- EBElise Brown6 days ago1.0Im a fellow u village worker and the workers here are always kind and good at their jobs, but today I had a super off putting interaction. I was about to pay for my food when a mother and daughter (braids, white headphones on, orange tank top) come up near the to-go area. The daughter enters the kitchen, and I’m like does she know she’s entering the employee area? But it turns out she knew whoever was checking me out, I don’t know if she was an employee off her shift or what. The daughter proceeds to move in front of the worker who was checking me out, so now she’s on the only register in the restaurant. I could tell the cashier was slightly embarrassed because she nudged the girl and said, “there’s a really long line..” but the girl proceeded to put her own order into the computer. The cashier speaks up again saying “the customer is waiting” to which the girl sneered, “the customer can wait” without looking up. At this point I’m shocked but at a loss for words. I think, ok I might as well scan my rewards while I’m waiting. The cashier stops me, and then the mom steps in front of me to pay for the meal the daughter put in. The daughter just stared at me with a smug look and I was so caught off guard I couldn’t find the words in the moment, I just paid and left. I hope she sees this and that this doesn’t happen to anyone else.
