After spending seven incredible days on an Alaska cruise, my family and I found ourselves in downtown Seattle doing some sightseeing before heading back home to Miami. As much as we enjoyed our trip, there was one thing we were desperately missing—authentic Bangladeshi food with that familiar aroma, comforting flavors, and the spicy kick that only our homeland's cuisine can deliver.
We came across Bengal Tiger Cuisine and decided to give it a try for dinner. There was just one problem—we wouldn't arrive until around 9:30 PM, and they closed at 10:00 PM. When we called, the manager was understandably a little hesitant at first. But after we explained that we had traveled all the way from Miami after an Alaska cruise and were craving a taste of Bangladesh, he didn't hesitate for long. He warmly welcomed us, and we're so grateful he did.
From the moment the food hit the table, we knew we had made the right decision.
We ordered the Kacchi Goat Biryani, Aloo Bhorta, Daal, Chicken Curry, and Egg Curry, and every single dish was absolutely phenomenal. We were especially impressed that everything came from their relatively limited Bangladeshi menu, yet every item was incredibly authentic, perfectly seasoned, and bursting with the flavors we grew up with. The spice level was exactly how we love it—not watered down for the average palate, but true to Bangladeshi cooking. The portions were generous, and before we knew it, we had practically wiped out the entire meal in one sitting!
What truly made the evening unforgettable, however, was meeting the owner, Mr. Saleh Uddin. He came out to introduce himself, and within minutes it felt like we were reconnecting with family rather than meeting someone for the first time. His passion for cooking, his kindness, and his genuine hospitality perfectly reflect what Bangladeshi culture is all about.
By the end of the evening, I felt like I had gained a Bangladeshi brother in Seattle, and hopefully he gained one in Miami. Bengal Tiger Cuisine is a true family-owned and operated restaurant, run by Mr. Saleh Uddin and his son, and that love and dedication shines through in every aspect of the experience.
To top it all off, Mr. Saleh generously gifted me a Bengal Tiger Cuisine T-shirt, which I'll proudly wear back home in Florida, and he treated my kids to complimentary mango mousse, which they absolutely loved. Those thoughtful gestures meant so much and turned an already amazing meal into a memory we'll cherish for years.
Thank you, Mr. Saleh Uddin and the entire Bengal Tiger Cuisine family, for making us feel so welcome and giving us a beautiful reminder of home while we were thousands of miles away. We will absolutely stay in touch, and every time we're back in Seattle, Bengal Tiger Cuisine will be our very first stop.
From one Bangladeshi family to another—thank you for the food, the friendship, and the unforgettable hospitality. We can't recommend this place highly enough. Five stars simply aren't enough!
