I really wanted this store to become my new grocery store after the Redmond Fred Meyer closed, but unfortunately it’s been one disappointment after another. This is honestly one of the worst grocery stores I’ve shopped at.
The produce department is consistently in poor condition. Rotten fruits and vegetables are often left on display with little or no fresh product replacing them, making it feel like the store is trying to sell spoiled produce before restocking. On top of that, the produce prices are outrageous. A regular (non-organic) cantaloupe for $6.99 was hard to believe.
The hot deli and sandwich area is another major issue. The manager is consistently rude, I’ve witnessed him yelling at employees in front of customers, and he often appears unkempt to the point that it doesn’t inspire confidence in someone handling food.
The meat department hasn’t been much better. The employees rarely seem focused on helping customers, and the department often looks poorly maintained.
The older gentleman I believe manages produce is equally frustrating. On multiple occasions he’s completely ignored me when I’ve asked for assistance.
The Starbucks kiosk is another disappointment. The employee with the tattoos and piercings often comes across as annoyed, ignores customers, and gives the impression that he’d rather be anywhere else.
The store’s selection also leaves a lot to be desired. I regularly have to make another stop because items are out of stock or the produce quality is too poor to buy. I’ve also had multiple gallons of milk spoil just a few days after purchase, which has made me question product rotation. And don’t get me started on the many products that sit on the shelf after the expiration date. Both canned items and dairy.
The only bright spots are the tall young supervisor at the front of the store, who is always attentive, friendly, and clearly works hard, and a couple of other employees who have been genuinely pleasant. Unfortunately, they are the exception rather than the rule.
I keep giving this store another chance because it’s convenient, but each visit reminds me how much I miss the Redmond Fred Meyer. This location has significant issues with customer service, cleanliness, product quality, and inventory, and I hope regional management sees this and takes a serious look at what’s happening.

Always have to check the expiration date on everything. I believe this is Safeway's dump store. Most the time the produce when purchased needs to be consumed that day. Shelf life is very minimal. Same distance to Safeway in Sammamish with fresh food.
