  I have been shopping here AND FILLING MY ENTIRE FAMILYS PRESCRIPTIONS HERE for the last 13 years. I have recently had to move out of this area to caretake for my mother so i am now actually closest to the safeway on 72nd portland ave. I REFUSE TO EVEN WALK INTO THAT safeway . I purposely go out of my way to go to canyon rd because it is a much more pleasant experience compared to the safeway on 72nd in tacoma. That is up until about 12:40am this morning when i went to self checkout( you had no choice but to go thru ) , when i went to grab my debit card to purchase my items my card slipped out of my hands and fell between the metal movable cart to the left of the register( the one you can set your items on to be ready to scan across the scanner), i immediatly rolled that table out excpecting to see it laying there but it was no where to be found. I then lay on the filthy floor and used my cell flashlight to look underneath the fixed equipment( not movable) because it obviously slid under there somewhere. I spent a good 30 min looking and could not find it. Theres not much room to see underthere and at that point it was a little after 1am and they wanted to go home( understandable). I was told not to worry and to come back tomorrow and theyll have recovered my card. Well that didnt happen. The gal at the setvice desk was very non chalaunt about it and told me they looked and could not find it. She then asks me which register it was , i showed her which one. She starts moving over to that register as if to look again??? WHAAA??? FIRST OF ALL IF U ALREADY LOOKED LIKE YOU SAID U DID WHY ARE U ASKING ME WHICH REGISTER?? AND WHY ARE YOU WALKING OVER TO LOOK LIKE YOUR JUST NOW GOING TO START LOOKING?? MAKE IT MAKE SENSE! I felt completelty ignored and given the attitude of " no big deal" i wanted to cry. Its my only card. Now i have to cancel and go thru the bs of waiting for a new card to come in the mail all because NOBODY REALLY EVEN LOOKED. I AM COMPLETELY DISAPPOINTED AND AM NO LONGER GOING TO FILL RX'S AT SAFEWAY ANYMORE. SAFEWAY YOU REALLY SHOULD BLOCK OF THAT GAP BETWEEN THE COUNTER WHERE YOU SET YOUR MERCHANDISE ON READY TO BE SCANNED AT SELF CHECKOUT SO THAT CARDS CAN NOT FALL BETWEEN THAT GAP!! I TRULY HOPE NO ONE ELSE HAS TO GO THRU THIS NIGHTMARE

  Could you guys teach all of your store employees the importance of food handling. I just watched one of your associates pick up food off the ground. Food thats been there for who knows how long and place them with all the other veggies when it should of been wasted.

  Extremely overpriced and expired food on several occasions. Saw a fly sitting on the ice in the seafood case. I bought some rockfish that spoiled the day before the date… returned it and bought a “fresh” pack of rockfish that smelled almost as bad when I cooked it the same day. Mike’s hot honey chips in the picture were purchased on April 29.
