I asked the attendant if the machine accepted cash and then where to insert it, as I am not familiar with using cash at self checkout, I usually use my card. Instead of answering my question, she responded in a sarcastic tone, saying, “well first you have to scan your items and then at the end you can choose cash or card,” which did not address what I asked. After I finished scanning, I asked again where to put the cash. She looked at me and said, “are you serious? are you actually serious?” in a condescending manner. She then pushed my cart out of the way and said, “first you need to get this out of the way,” before pointing at the machine and stating, “I told you after you hit the cash button this will light up,” which she had not clearly explained previously. This interaction was disrespectful, dismissive, and entirely unprofessional. At no point was I given clear assistance without being talked down to. As someone who works in customer service, I understand the importance of patience and respectful communication, and this behavior fell far below that standard.
