I visited this McDonald's with my 18-month-old child to get breakfast. After ordering at the kiosk, I let my child play in the indoor play area. There was a notice clearly stating that only children under 3 years old were allowed, yet several much older children were running around aggressively inside. Their parents were not supervising them, and the staff didn't seem to be paying any attention to the situation.
When I picked up my order, I asked for a coffee carrier. The older female employee, who appeared to be a manager, had a very unfriendly attitude and looked annoyed every time she spoke to me.
After receiving my food, I tried to leave through a door near the play area. I assumed it was a regular exit door because it was easily accessible. As soon as I opened it, a security alarm went off and caused a scene. If it's a security door, why isn't it locked, blocked off, or at least clearly marked with a large warning sign? There was nothing obvious indicating that customers should not use that door.
While all of this was happening, my child was bumped into by one of the older kids in the play area and started crying, which made the situation even more stressful and embarrassing.
I went to the counter to explain what happened, but the same female employee responded with the same unfriendly attitude.
As a Mukilteo resident, I've visited this location many times, but after this experience, I don't think I'll be coming back anytime soon. The entire visit was extremely disappointing and unpleasant.
