Good food, great prices, but the hospitality is what really stood out!
Stopped by Kalia Indian Cuisine & Sports Lounge for a quick snack and ended up leaving with a really positive impression. The food was good, prices were surprisingly reasonable, and most importantly, the hospitality made us want to come back.
We ordered Samosa Chaat, Channa Bhatura, Channa Puri, and a Mango Shake.
⭐ Samosa Chaat – 5/5
Probably the highlight of our meal. Authentic, flavorful, and honestly one of the better Samosa Chaats I've had in quite some time. At around $10 with TWO samosas, it also felt like excellent value. I've come across very few places around here that actually serve two full samosas in their Samosa Chaat at this price.
⭐ Channa Puri – 4.5/5
Another very good choice. The puris were huge, freshly made, and surprisingly light rather than feeling excessively heavy or oily. The channa tasted good and came with sliced onions on the side. Simple accompaniment, but worked well with the dish. Portion size was generous, especially considering the price.
⭐ Channa Bhatura – 4/5
The bhatura wasn't quite the authentic style I was expecting, but it still tasted good. I wouldn't call it disappointing at all—I've simply had better and more authentic bhatura elsewhere.
🥭 Mango Shake – 4/5
Initially I thought the Mango Shake was a little plain, but after having more of it, I actually appreciated that. It tasted simple and natural rather than artificially sweet or overly flavored, which made it feel more honestly prepared. Sometimes simple is better, and this grew on me.
Portions across the meal were appropriate, and considering the prices, I thought the value for money was excellent.
The restaurant itself has a nice vibe—clean, comfortable, light Hindi instrumental music playing in the background, and sports on the TVs. It works equally well as a casual place to come with family or to hang out with friends. There's also plenty of free parking, with the restaurant conveniently located next to Walmart.
But what really deserves special mention is the service and hospitality.
Both the host and his wife, who appeared to be the owners, were incredibly polite, calm, helpful, and welcoming. There was something genuinely warm about the way they interacted with us it almost felt like we were regular customers they already knew rather than people visiting for the first time. That kind of hospitality is becoming increasingly rare and definitely deserves recognition.
I honestly couldn't find much to complain about during this visit. We only stopped in for a quick snack, but after this experience, we'll definitely return for a proper full-course meal and explore more of the menu.
Tip: They also offer a discount for paying with cash.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 — without hesitation.
Good food and reasonable prices brought us in; the hospitality is what will bring us back.
