Pharmacy not open. No one got there until 9:10. Then had to "open up", Then couldn't find prescription on computer, nor was it hanging up already filled. This was called in and needed for a dental appt. Finally found it on voice mail unfulfilled. Luckily, the dentist had some and I left. Totally unprofessional, bad business. Either hire more people or get somebody who can handle the job. Never will use them again.

I do not usually take to the internet when customer service employee is rude. I understand they are under stress and working with the public can be a pain. However, Maryellen's behavior was uncalled for. As one side of the doors were being closed I missed the sign that said the entrance was closed. She was standing by it and opened it for me, I smiled, said "oh my gosh thank you so much" and she said "no one knows how to read anymore". She easily could have gestured to go to the other door, she easily could have walked away and not done or said anything. Instead, she lets me in essentially just to insult me. I'm an understanding person, I get that things can be stressful, but to go out of your way just to be mean to someone for making a mistake is WILD to me. She also wasn't wearing a name tag, so I had to ask someone what her name was.
Leaving 3 stars because the other employees who were very kind and the fact that this store is otherwise fantastic. Not saying the name of the person who told me Maryellen's name because I'm no snitch.

May 1, 2926 There was only one cashier open so I went to the self-checkout. I scanned a red pepper that was supposed to cost $0.97 according to the shelf and it came up about a dollar fifty more (and I had scanned my card) as well as including an avocado (which I didn't have). I asked for help and patiently waited while the help woman took a long time to get to me; she was on the phone. When she arrived she sarcastically thanked me for my patience, as if I hadn't been patient. Then she was more than rude, she was nasty: After she supposedly resolved the pepper issue, she left and I scanned my lettuce. It came up as $3 worth of peppers! I called her back and she told me my eyes were lying and she grabbed my lettuce from me and held it away from me when I tried to show her what happened, and she basically implied that I am too much of an idiot to scan anything. At that point I mumbled that I think I need to go to a different store, but I went to the cashier and they were nice there. Good grief. You'd think they would have someone patient and kind at the self-checkout to make you want to go back to it. The woman was wholly unsuited for the position. Maybe they should transfer her to the area where they rough up detained shoplifters.
5/6/2026. Though I tried to keep my review amusing I was actually traumatized by the experience and when I needed orange juice today I thought about going back to Safeway but instead opted for ordering from Amazon Prime with no stress.
