  I’d give the workers 5 stars. This is a review of the Safeway corporation’s operation of the Broadway store and their price gouging of vulnerable people. Here’s just one example… Juantonios 15 oz tortilla chips Walmart $3.28 Safeway $4.49 Safeway’s price is 27% higher than Walmart Why are Safeway prices so high? Safeway is part of the Albertsons grocery monopoly. A small number of mega-corporations—primarily Walmart, Kroger, Costco, and Albertsons—control a vast majority of the national grocery market share. In addition- Safeway, like the auto parts stores on Broadway nearby, uses geographic pricing to target a demographic that (a) is unable to comparison shop via the internet and (b) has limited transportation options available making it hard to travel to a store with lower prices. Join a union. Vote for politicians who will represent you e.g. what the right wing propagandists call socialists and communists who are in reality FDR style New Deal democrats like your grandparents or great grandparents voted for 80 years ago before the billionaires bought the media, courts and politicians. Update 8/25/26 I like to cook and one of my go-to ingredients is bouillon. Here’s another example of Safeway’s predatory pricing - Better Than Bouillon vegetable bouillon $4.82 Walmart $7.49 Safeway Safeway’s price is 55% higher than Walmart I can continue with these examples but I’ve made my point. Here are a couple of other facts explaining why Safeway prices are so high… Safeway (Albertsons) CEO rakes in 15 to 26 million dollars annually in compensation. Albertsons issued a massive $6.85 per share special dividend in October of 2022 totaling roughly $4 billion. This payout faced fierce legal challenges from various state attorneys general before finally being distributed in January 2023.

  Total cramped, dirty, produce bad, horrible shopping experience! I’ll go to QFC..or order online from Walmart. I was just amazed at how unkept this store is! I’m from another city…beautiful Safeway!! This one just sucks
