  A weird convoluted system where they don’t serve food on the patio so you have to get your food to go, but you have to put your name in and wait for a table before you can actually place your to-go order. And no free refills on soda? I don’t think I’ve ever experienced that when a place serves fountain sodas. It costs the restaurant about $.10 - just give free refills when you order food.

  You need to do a better job of posting restaurant availability and private event closures. We were here today 08/08 and the restaurant and patio was closed for private event. Restaurant availability for regular visitors was not posted on the website or even at the base where gondola starts. Attached website private event date shows 08/09 as reserved not today. This is very unprofessional of the business making visitors believe the restaurant is open. Most people who were up there simply visiting were disheartened that they could not eat up there or even have a drink. Many people are visiting and this is not a good experience. Do better.

  Visited the Summit House today. This had been a bucket list stop for me for a while, so we were excited about it all week, and it was meant to be a special day for us. Unfortunately, we left disappointed and honestly couldn't wait to get out of there. The food was decent, nothing memorable, but that wasn't really why we came. The view was the main draw, and it lived up to expectations. The service was where the experience fell short. We were never checked on a single time during the meal, so we had to flag someone down for utensils, napkins, and condiments ourselves, and doing so felt like an inconvenience to the staff. Our server was unfriendly throughout, and we weren't sure if it was something on our end or if they were just having an off day. Between that and the atmosphere feeling uncomfortable overall, it's genuinely upsetting that the service and overall attitude of the staff ended up spoiling what should have been a special day for us. I'd still recommend visiting the summit for the views, but next time I'd bring a picnic and enjoy it from outside rather than dine at the restaurant.

  Best piece of advice I can give is to look at the menu ahead of time & order as soon as you sit down. Food service was terribly slow. Felt like they were cooking the food at the bottom of the summit & bringing it up on the gondola. My burger was a little dry but my husband said his Elk burger was good. Fries were delicious. Wished the waiter checked on us more because we definitely would've ordered more drinks since the food took almost an hour to get to our table, big missed opportunity from a sales perspective. Even though the food service was painfully slow, it was still a cool experience as the views up there are breath taking.

  After an amazing scenic view up the gondola, my family and I expected the food at the Summit House Restaurant to add to experience. However, our experience at the restaurant significantly altered our feelings about our time. Upon entering, we immediately noticed the slowness of the staff. When ordering, our waiter seemed unsure about talking to people and about food on the menu. We finally placed our order and had to wait an astounding 1 hour and 15 minutes until we had to call our waiter over to ask about the status of our food. Had we not called him over, I’m not sure we would’ve eaten. After going to check with the kitchen, he comes back to inform us of a complication regarding one of our meals. This issue could have been resolved many hour before, and we had to wait an additional 15 minutes before it was done. Our food was overpriced and cold. Situations seemed to be handled in the most difficult and seemingly secretive way as our waiter was mia for the majority of our meal. Overall, I would not recommend traveling up the gondola for anything more than the amazing view
