The store supervisor on duty (Wendy) refused to accept a valid government-issued ID (passport) for alcohol verification, stating it “looked fake.” My Instacart account is fully verified for alcohol deliveries, and I have completed over 1,000 orders, many of them involving alcohol, without any prior issues. Because of this refusal, I was unable to complete the order and lost approximately one hour of time. The situation was handled inconsistently and without proper verification standards, resulting in an unnecessary delivery failure. I am requesting that Safeway review this incident and ensure that staff are properly trained on acceptable forms of ID for Instacart alcohol orders, including passports and app-based verification procedures. This experience directly impacted my ability to complete a legitimate order and should be addressed internally.

Then Pepper, the employee, noticed the discounted item and lifted a sticker that showed an additional half-off discount. Thanks to her attention to detail, an item that was originally $32 ended up costing me only $9. Pepper takes care of her work and takes care of her customers. You can tell she works with love and dedication. Thank you, Pepper, for making my day happy.
