  Overpriced across the board. Have about 1/3 of the amount of discounts co my pared with Kroger. This Safeway specifically really takes advantage of the fact there are no any grocers in the vacinity (as in soley groceries). It's sad when a department store has a better selection, higher quality and better deals than a dedicated grocery store. It's ran down and lack updates that even the oldest stores in the area. Would seem the lower rent lease costs would work to someone's benefit beside s mmmm.

  The job market is the worst its been right now, and yet you have employees that seem like they don’t care about their jobs or even want to be there. There was no check lane open at 3:30 pm for families who have big carts, and the employees who were asked to open up were giving each other faces like they were both too good to be working there and helping us. The cashier was about ready to laugh any time we said anything, and the bagger sat there complaining as he was bagging everything. As for excuses of understaffing, I counted about 3 or 4 in-store shoppers during my trip today. No reason none of those employees couldn’t have stood in to cover a break for the missing cashier. And the FEM or PIC were nowhere to be found. As we were leaving, another customer came and wanted a checkstand and the bagger literally said in front of us, “I guess you don’t want to check out by yourself,” annoyed that he had to keep bagging. Our experience was ridiculous. In this competitive economy, I will not be buying overpriced groceries in an environment that doesn’t even care about my sale, the entire basis of their job description by the way. Want to save money? Don’t cut hours, just find competent, hardworking employees that actually want to be there. I’ve been to Safeways with less employees but they still were run better than this. I’m being serious.

  Purchased Black Forest ham. Got home saw the expiration date was July 10th. Almost a month ago. Came into return it and was told I can’t use my rewards membership’s purchase history as proof of purchase. Not to mention I checked the last thing of ham I bought and it was also wildly expired compared to when I bought it. EXPIRED MEAT and NO REFUND. Yuck
