On Sunday 12/7/25, I walked into the Kinney Drugs in Middlebury with my husband and very sick 10 month old baby to pick up a medication at the pharmacy. This medication was called into this pharmacy by an on-call pediatrician at Porter Pediatrics (who was absolutely incredible, thorough, and deserves kudos for her prompt assessment and plan of care for my baby). When we walked into the store, we rushed over to the pharmacy to see that it was closed for lunch (between 1-1:30pm). I checked the time, it was 1:02 on the dot. we needed this medication to get my baby to stop vomiting - she was at serious risk of dehydration and was potentially going to need to go to the emergency department if she didn’t get better quickly. I went out to our truck to grab my cellphone to potentially call the doctor back and ask her to send the script to a different pharmacy. But then I realized, it would be worth asking the cashier staff to ask the pharmacist if they could come out quickly to help us. When i approached the cashier and explained the situation, she told me the pharmacy is closed, she can’t help us, and I pleaded with her to just call the pharmacist and ask if they would be willing to help us. She then proceeded to say “I can’t call him. I’d have to walk back there and I’m going to help the other costumers first.” I turned around and asked the customer behind me if it’d be okay if the cashier helped me first, and the customer insisted that the cashier help me, and not her (wish I could properly thank this woman for her kindness). The cashier then walked back to grab the pharmacist. When he came out, all he said to us was “I told the doctor to tell you we’d be closed.” He was not pleased to be assisting us - it was clear. I have been a registered nurse and worked in the healthcare field for 8+ years. Never in my life, have I encountered someone like this pharmacist who also works in healthcare and was so clearly bothered to take 2 min out of his break to help us so we could HELP OUR BABY. I get it. You need and want your lunch break. But if the roles were reserved, I would’ve never made a family with a sick infant feel the way that cashier and pharmacist made us feel yesterday. Truly, these people need new jobs and shouldn’t be customer facing. Your behavior and actions won’t be forgotten. We grabbed the medication from the pharmacist, I went out to the truck with my baby to administer the medication. My husband stayed inside to check out at the front and buy some pedialyte. When he got back in the truck, I time stamped - it was 1:12pm. That entire interaction including the time my husband stayed back in the store, took all of 10 min. You can now imagine how fast it took for that cashier to walk to the back of the store and how quickly the pharmacist helped us - it truly took no time at all. Was it really worth being rude and impolite about it? No, it wasn’t. You should both be ashamed of yourself. I wish I had the name of the cashier but I don’t - it was a short woman, dark hair, perhaps Asian. The pharmacist is J. Keimer. If I could give them a 0/5 star rating, I would. Baby is doing great and feeling much better after getting her meds yesterday.

Don’t bother trying to get photos printed here. We started off by asking if we could do a photo book and were told yes. My mom and I ordered about 50 photos, 2 magnet photos and a photo book. Mom paid for her order and we were double checking we had everything, we didn’t. We had to ask for the envelopes that went with the mail out photo cards and the photo magnets. She miscounted 20 envelopes three times and she handed us the two magnets to stick to the back of the photos ourselves. I then paid for my order and she couldn’t find it. Turns out, she gave it to my mom with her order because “oh I just looked at the last name”. I double checked the photos she had given my mom and only half of my order was there, so she checked the printer and it hadn’t printed everything. I had to ask her to restart it, so I could get the rest of my order. At that point she told my mom the photos were done for the photo book, so mom paid for her order and asked for the book since it was ready. Mom was then told that they didn’t have the rest of the stuff to make the book and they would have to order more sometime. This being the book we asked if we could make when we first got there. The printer then gave an error on the rest of my order that still wasn’t printing and I was told I would have to start my order over. At that point I was done. Mom and I asked for our money back on the items we couldn’t get and left. There was 0 positive customer service from her at any point throughout our interactions and she acted annoyed that we were printing things and needed the rest of our orders.

Friendly, helpful staff especially in the pharmacy. The pharmacist even came out from the pharmacy part to help me to pick out an over the counter medication. I've had to return a couple of non-medication things and they were great about that too.
