  Place is equivalent to a zoo on weekends and after regular work hours (around 5). Produce and meat is either hit or miss - bought a steak once and went to cook it the next day to find it had spoiled. Pastries are delicious, but usually barren. I find it’s clean even on Sundays but things are often sold out (although this might be more on me since i go later towards closing). Wide collection of snacks and other various food. It’s a grocery store.

  The front of this store is too congested. There isn’t any room for people to wait in line causing other customers to bump others with carts whilst trying to squeeze in for passers. The associates packing the bags should understand that heavy items should not be placed on top of softer items such as donuts and delicate hot peppers. Overall the store was clean and the employees were pleasant enough, although the stockers did not seem to care if they obstructed the entire aisle. What really shocked me was the rudeness of the clientele, although that isn’t Hannafords problem. People were impatient, cut in line at the specialty counters, etc.

  Absolutely unfathomable experience at the Middlebury Hannaford location tonight. My husband quickly went to pick up 5 produce ITEMS before the store closed. He walked in at 850pm, the doors were still open and he could see people still being checked out. He grabbed the 5 produce items and went to the check out. It had just turned 9pm. A woman, who he assumed was the manger refused to check him out citing that because it was 9pm the store was now closed. She then took the 5 items from him and instructed him to leave the store. While this interaction was happening my husband could clearly see a store employee using self checkout to check out their own order. So the register at least in the self check out was still open. Never have we experienced such terrible customer service. we will be contacting the corporate office tomorrow to put in a complaint over this situation and the extreme lack of customer service and unprofessionalism your staff exhibits.

  Great store, they had everything i was looking for, but really did not like the layout. I found it hard to get around
