First time visiting Sonic in 20 years and now I see why I do not go to Sonic.
We were in Williamsburg and stopped at this Sonic for a quick bite. A quick stop ended up waiting 20 minutes for our food. The first thing I noticed is the parking area where you order by cars was way too narrow and there is no way they can deliver food without me moving the car. I have a 2003 Honda and there was 6 inches clearance on drivers side and 3 inches on passenger side.
They have a touch screen at each vehicle space, but you cannot order with the touchscreen. It is only meant to be used with the app or online with website. What is the purpose of having the touchscreen if I have to press a button and order through a speaker.
We ordered a smash burger combo and a Coney Footlong combo. Not too busy only 2 other cars in parking lot. We waited and waited and waited as I watched for 20 minutes as they served at least 8 cars through the drive through during that time. I was just getting ready to drive off when a man came out to deliver our order. He apologized and evidently was taking drive through orders and handling orders for cars. It appears there was only one employee handling all customers. He dropped off the bag of food and drinks and luckily I gave him my credit card and had him handle the payment. If I had not, we would have never received the rest of our food. There was one burger and two fries in the bag and no Coney. We had to wait another 6 minutes for him to deliver the hot dog which is not a Coney.
Coneys are an all-beef hotdog and the footlong was your cheap variety that you get in one of those large discount packages for hot dogs made out of whatever meat is the cheapest. The chili was your generic can type chili. Hots dogs and chili at 7-11 are gourmet quality compared to the Sonic hotdog. He offered to bring us a fork because he said most people eat the foot long with a fork. When she tried to pick up the footlong, I could see why people eat it with a fork. The bun was stale and falling apart when she tried to lift it.
The smash burger rated as one of the worse hamburgers I have ever eaten. It had some horrible concoction of orange mess as a sauce that looked like cook had gotten sick and regurgitated on the burger. The bun was dry and stale like the hamburger bun and when I picked it up and took a bite, the bun started falling apart.
All the food was lukewarm at best after waiting over 20 minutes. The french fries were not even warm and all stuck together in a ball. I have seen popcorn balls before but never french fry balls.
We finished less than half the food and threw the rest away. It baffles me how Sonic can stay in business with the quality of void not even worthy of 1 star.
Total cost for two awful combos barely edible was $25 with tax.

I had lunch chicken combo. Bun was burned, chicken over cooked, 2 pickles, lettuce the size of 50 cent , no tomato, very small dressing. Fried well done. It definitely depends on the cook. Last week got the same meal and it was great. Don't think I will be going back. Giving up no fast food. Not worth the disappointment.

The food was cold. The breakfast burrito was a literal folded up tortilla. When I say there was one slab of egg in it, that’s literally it. The tater tots were cold, nothing was hot. The fast food industry needs some help.

I go to this sonic alot..and everything is usually great..but today I got home and half way thru eating my burger I pull a piece of hair out the piece I had in my mouth.. im actively trying to be calm but im disgusted and ANGRY. ya know, when dealing with food prep I would suggest the policy be hair nets and beard guards for anyone who has either.
