  Great service both at the bar and the table. Food is excellent. The Irish egg rolls are insanely good. This is our favorite place to stop when on vacation every year.

  Visiting from NY - dying for Shepherds Pie and was disappointed. No flavor whatsoever, hardly any carrots and what few there were - the pieces were small. And the ONE slice of Irish bread that was the size of a playing card… overall disappointing. The 75 cent oysters though were amazing. Ambience was amazing as was staff.

  I've been going here for years because me and Law Enforcement buddies go there. Came to watch the usa vs Belgium game, put my name on the list for a table and calmly waited an hour with my sister and 12 year old nephew like a good boy. Some ginger broom stick brings us to a table in a small corner with no tv's. Before we even sat, a table opens up right next to it. I ask ginger broomstick if we can sit there and she tells me know or I'd have to put my name back on the list (before we even sat down.) I ask calmly why can't we just sit here since we came first and the other people haven't been notified yet and she states because it hasn't been clean yet( so clean it, whats the problem), and then because we have other reservations) she tells me I can speak to a manager. Calls Some dude with a GED (im being far to generous with his education) who tells me you could sit where we put you or its whatever. YEA, you just lost a usual customer.

  Good Irish pubs are not hard to come by as they almost always live up to ecxpectations. Murphy’s most certainly hits those expectations. Great atmosphere and excellent service which was no less than I expected. They have a variety of live events and things to do along with eating and drinking. Speaking of those activities, the Irish egg rolls were a pleasant start to my meal. They themselves were enough to make Murphy’s stand out, but then I received a piping hot Reuben. I cannot understate the importance of hot food. It made the corned beef absolutely melt in my mouth. Paired with some cold Irish red ale, this place hits the spot and more. During a 4 day stay in Virginia Beach, I just barely managed to keep myself from having another meal at this fantastic spot.

  The fish and chips was pretty good. The beef stew was really good, but a little light on the serving size. I would pass on the nachos, however. Our server was relatively quick for the amount of tabless she had. The outside entertainment is enjoyable. We will certainly return.
