  This is our GO-TO place for all things seafood! Everything is so delicious, well-prepared, and comes to the table quickly and hot. The shrimp is amazing! The waitstaff has always been attentive when we have been there, and the prices are very reasonable for the amount and quality of food. I sound like a commercial, but this has been my true experience for the 5 years that we have lived near the Lynnhaven Inlet. Outside views cannot be beat!

  Been going for years with my grandfather and family and I’ve never been disappointed at Dockside! Our server, Kai (I hope that’s right!), today made me think of giving a review because he was incredibly friendly and fun to talk to throughout the night! The food is always a hit, whether you get the soup or the catch of the day. You can get different fish, depending on the season, fried or blackened or grilled and the sides are a thing you can’t go wrong with no matter what you pick. (I always love the flounder! Blackened!) Even if it’s an out of the way drive, you won’t regret coming to dockside

  All they need is a sign that says best seafood in town. Food is flavored well, crab cakes were superb and Shannon's service was spectacular. The atmosphere is friendly and inviting with wonderful views of the water. 10/10. Will revisit this restaurant when we come back to VA beach

  An otherwise great afternoon on a Mother's Day was dampened by a less than favorable encounter. Upon arrival we were told we had a 20 minute wait. We decided to take a walk and take in the surroundings while we waited to be seated. As we were walking across the parking lot to a neighboring establishment to check it out, we were cut off in the parking lot by what looked like a pedestrian in sandals. He told us that if we left the parking lot we would be towed. We were disconcerted with his tone. As patrons who have come here for years now, we should simply have the peace of mind to be able to walk where we like while we vountarily waited to dine at this establishment. To clarify, our server, Faith Lynn was very friendly and knowledgeable. We thought She was wonderful. We also enjoyed our meal. This rendered the overall visit satisfactory.

  Dockside is a wonderful place to enjoy fresh local seafood, along with enjoyable, relaxing views of the Lynnhaven River outlet. There is both inside and outside deck seating along the water where you can watch various fishing and pleasure boats cruise by while you enjoy delicious food and drinks. There is an attached seafood market where you can view and buy locally caught seafood that comes in daily for home cooking, or you can decide what you might like to enjoy in the restaurant based on the daily fresh catches seen in the market. I've always enjoyed a good meal and a good time at Dockside, and I especially love the views of the water and boats while savoring my meal. Dockside has an "early bird" menu with half a dozen seafood choices reasonably priced at $19.00 if you order before 5:30 pm. They also have daily specials including the fresh catch of the day, with entree prices averaging around $36. Most dishes come with a choice of two generous sides. The coleslaw is very tasty, and they offer "just right" hush puppies, vegetables and potato options as sides.
