  Nestled at 202 E. Washington St. in Suffolk, VA, Gourmet Burger Bistro is a hidden gem that I stumbled upon during a work trip, and it exceeded all my expectations. Family-owned and operated, this charming restaurant has been serving the community for two years, and it’s clear they take pride in their craft. The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it a great spot to unwind, whether you're dining in or grabbing takeout. Unfortunately, I had to opt for takeout due to work commitments, but I immediately regretted not being able to sit down and savor the experience fully. Now, let's talk about the food! The service was outstanding, starting my culinary journey off on a high note. I ordered a side crab cake that was perfectly seasoned and absolutely divine. The cheesesteak was another highlight—flavorful and satisfying, it truly hit the spot. The crispy onion rings and sweet potato fries topped with bacon and cheese were indulgent treats that complemented the meal beautifully. Then came the burger itself, which was nothing short of amazing. Each bite was a burst of flavor; you can tell they put a lot of thought and love into their recipes. Everything I sampled was delicious, and it's clear their commitment to quality food shines through. For those who love a lively atmosphere, check out their Portsmouth location, Victory Rivers Burger Bistro, which is known for its karaoke nights on weekends—an excellent way to combine great food with entertainment. Their hours of operations are Wednesday through Saturday. Wednesday and Thursday 5pm -11pm Friday and Saturday 5pm- 2am If you're a fellow trucker, the Suffolk location is particularly accommodating for parking, allowing for a bobtail with ease. There’s ample parking behind the restaurant, and the Portsmouth spot offers plenty of space as well. Gourmet Burger Bistro operates daily, except Tuesdays, from 11 AM to 7 PM and closes early at 5 PM on Sundays. Don’t miss out on this fantastic eatery if you’re in town! I definitely plan to return the next time I’m in Suffolk, by then they should have opened up another venue right next door that will be focused on seafood.   I've been here a few times and have never been disappointed. The food is always hot, fresh and delicious. The service is friendly and the atmosphere is nice. I drive 45 minutes just to eat here. My new favorite restaurant.

  In town for the evening and was looking for good wings. During my search Gourmet Burger Bistro popped up and I'm glad they did! From the previous reviews I was expecting whole wings. However having them already cut still did not disappoint unless you like the crispy end piece that people normally discard. Back to the wings; fried perfectly and the "sticky" sauce was delicious. Not spicey, with a hint of sweetness. I'd probably try with some hot sauce next time in town. As for the chocolate chip cookies; money in the bank! Food and service 10 out of 10. I'll definitely be back!

  We ordered from them for the first time. The burgers are the best we've ever had. However, we did not receive our fries and a few other side items. I'm guessing the delivery driver just didn't pick up the second bag of our food. After notifying the restaurant twice, we have heard nothing back. No email response, no call from the voice mail left. We spent close to $120.

  Stopped into Gourmet Burger Bistro in Suffolk and had a fantastic experience. The cheesesteak was delicious, but the service stood out just as much. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table, and the guy at the door greeted us with a big smile and made us feel welcome right away. Great food, great people! If you are a local or just passing thru- I’d definitely recommend it here!
