Unfortunately have to do this. My kids and I are often at sweetwater and this night (Sunday) was by far our worst experience. Service was below par. We ordered drinks and food at the same time due to my kids being very hungry. I asked kindly to expedite the kids order so they can eat they put it in. 30 min passed we were told that one of my kids order was deemed 86’d and they had to offer the adult version. We obliged, come to it, they charged us 30 bucks for an 86d item without notification( my kid ordered off the kid menu), no management approached regarding this issue. Dinner was expedited 45 min later for a simple pasta with butter. Oldest kid stated fish was undercooked in the center, no management, waiter disregarded the comment. We asked 4 different employees for a refill of our drinks, and we finally got our refill, a bit too late as we already settled the check with dry throats. Took me and my kids 1 minute to resolve our issue at the bar table. Severely disappointed in this visit and don’t intend to come for dinner at this location in the near future.

To the Manager, I want to thank you for destroying a 20-year memory that, until now, represented everything my wife and I loved about Sweetwater Tavern. Twenty years ago, I took my wife to Sweetwater because it was her favorite restaurant, and later that evening I proposed to her. For our 20th anniversary, I wanted to recreate that night. I called nearly two weeks in advance, explained exactly why this dinner mattered, and worked with you to arrange the same seating area so I could bring that memory back to life for her. What followed was one completely avoidable failure after another. The seating location was discussed and confirmed multiple times, including again with me about an hour before we arrived. Yet when we got there, we were seated in the wrong place entirely. This was a lunch reservation, so being overwhelmed during a busy dinner service simply was not the issue. Our server made the experience even worse. There was no warmth, humor, enthusiasm, or indication that he had any interest in making our anniversary dinner remotely special. I actually came in carrying $200 cash knowing our meal would be relatively inexpensive, fully intending to leave a $100+ tip if someone simply made an effort to make the evening memorable. Instead, I left less than $20. But the part that bothered me most came at the end. Because we live five hours away and it had taken us more than a decade to return, we asked to take some of Sweetwater's rolls home with us. You knew why we were there. You knew it was our 20th anniversary. They were rolls. And you charged us the full $5. It wasn't about five dollars. You could have comped the bread, discounted it by a dollar, or made virtually any small gesture that said, "We understand this night meant something to you." Instead, we were charged full price and handed the rolls by a server who looked irritated that we had even asked. That small moment perfectly summed up the entire experience: nobody seemed to care. For 20 years, Sweetwater Tavern held an almost untouchable place in our memories because of the food, the service, and what that night represented in our lives. We traveled five hours hoping to relive a small piece of it. Instead, your restaurant managed to break that spell completely. This was genuinely one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had, not because one thing went wrong, but because every opportunity your staff had to make something right or show even the smallest amount of care was missed. I'm glad we now live five hours away, because after 20 years of loving Sweetwater Tavern, we will never be eating there again. I hope you take this seriously, not because anything can be done to fix our anniversary dinner, but because the next customer who tells you they are coming to your restaurant to celebrate something deeply meaningful deserves better than what we received.

I visit the Sterling location often, mainly sit at the bar. The atmosphere is good, food is ok but the service is mediocre to say the least. I have been patronizing the Great American Restaurants for a long time. From Sweetwater Springfield, Silverado in Annandale, Patsy's in Tysons, and Mikes American Grill in Springfield. USe to love going her but for a while now the service has slipped. Your prices as such that I expect much better. The bartenders at Sweetwater Sterling are incapable of holding a simple conversation let alone creating a true experience. Mediocre service, ok food and high prices is not a winning convination. You "ALL" need to do better.

We arrived as a party of five, so we had a 30 minute wait. I’m glad we did, because as you step outside, there is a small courtyard with a stone fountain. A beautifully manicured walking path attached continues around a pond. Inside, the “western saloon” decor was tastefully appropriate.Elegant lighting and a large wall mural were enjoyable sights. The tavern has its own brewhouse with nine taps that rotate over 40 beers. The three I tried were all exceptional. I bought two different 4-packs to try at home. The bacon cheeseburger was excellent and the bread pudding was unbelievably amazing. Our staff was personable and professional. I will definitely return to sample more beers and try other entrees.

Run. Away. It pains me to say this after more than 20 years of dining here, but save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else. The food is still decent, assuming you receive your order at all and that it’s actually correct, which lately has become a problem. We’ve now had multiple visits where salads were forgotten, which is kinda weird. Stipulating food allergies has also become a bit of a challenge with a lot of additional back-n-forth needed, often complicated by bad assumptions. Overall, it’s hard to enjoy a meal or strike a celebratory tone with so many issues. You’ll be better served simply going somewhere else.
