- MWMykaila WilliamsJun 30, 20265.010/10 experience at C&E Southern Bites! My boyfriend and I came into town for a wedding so on our way home flying out of IAD Airport we stopped by this restaurant. The owner was there and he was working on a new recipe. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with a warm smile and conversation about the state of things in Virginia. We were happy to chat since we were only in town for a couple of days and wanted to learn more about the area. After we ordered our food, the wait was not long until we got everything we ordered. They made no mistakes on our order and not to mention… everything was sooooo perfectly cooked!! The hush puppies were the 🤩star of the show 🤩 for me but my boyfriend raves about the desserts. We tried the sweet potato pie and the banana pudding- both EXCELLENT! We also ordered the yams, the collard greens and fried shrimp and fried chicken. Everything was made to order and simply delicious. We sat there for 3 hours just chatting and slowly working our way through our order. While we were waiting for our food the owner came over and gave us a free sample of the new recipe he was cooing up— Pepper Wings. They were so good, but a dash too much pepper and he took our feedback as constructive criticism. This business is truly a community serving business interested in real customer relationships with top notch food and I’m really glad this was our last meal in Virginia.
