I’ve been coming to Mikes for 20 years! My husband and I always sit at the bar, but we are never sitting at the bar again. After the bartender Christie left our service has never been the same. We’ve given it a whole entire year and it’s not the same experience at all. Our drinks take forever and several times our food orders have been forgotten or extremely delayed. The new bartenders are nice but they seem extremely flustered and it’s not what it used to be at all. She was friendly and remembered us and we came back for her. We’ve given it several chances but the bar at Mikes isn’t what it used to be.

We had just came from a funeral and had a party of 15! I did not make a reseravation because we could not think that far ahead. We drove 9 hours to get to Springfield, VA from SC. We all were hot and hungry, emotional and tired. I walked up to the hostess stand and the manager was also there. I smiled and told him my situation, he was the kindest person and got us 3 tables upstairs within a few minutes. The server was at our tables right away and we had our food out in no time. Everything was so yummy! The pulled pork bbq sandwich was the most popular and the cheeseburger. OH the fries are skinny and amazing! Thank you!

I recently visited Mike's American in Springfield, and it easily deserves a glowing 5-star rating! The atmosphere is fantastic—it’s a massive, beautiful bi-level space with unique stars hanging from the ceiling, giving it a really fun and welcoming suburban saloon vibe. The menu is outstanding, featuring an excellent variety of classic American fare and incredibly fresh regional seafood. Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection, generously portioned, and full of flavor. On top of the great food and ambiance, the service was attentive, fast, and genuinely friendly. If you are anywhere near the area, you absolutely must check it out. I can't wait to go back!

Should be 10 stars…. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 Stars – Exceeded Every Expectation! We made a pit stop at Mike’s American in Springfield, VA, and I am so glad we did! Looking at photos online, I had initial reservations that it might feel like a generic chain…. boy, was I wrong. What an incredible establishment. The chefs deserve massive raises! First off, the bartending team is world-class. Everyone was super efficient, friendly, and genuinely amazing at their jobs: * Jamael was so hilarious—he had us laughing the entire time. * Ray (The Lion King!) reeled the whole bar in with a mix of classy humor, efficiency, and fantastic personality. * Jordan was charming and a great conversationalist. * I also have to give a special shoutout to Ju-Ju (Julian), our runner, who was an absolute gentleman and so sweet! Now for the food: easily 10/10 stars. * My husband got the ribeye, and he called it "to die for"—which says a lot coming from a guy who cooks meat daily and spends hours smoking his own meats! * The Key Lime Pie was unbelievable—tasted like they squeezed 20 fresh limes into a single slice! * My goat cheese, candied pecan, and champagne vinaigrette salad was fantastic. My only tiny critique (because I feel like I have to find something!) is that the croutons felt a bit bagged; upgrading to house-made crostini or grilled sourdough would make that salad pure perfection. * For drinks, the Mike’s Lager was crisp, refreshing, and spot-on, and the Tequila Cosmo was delicious. We are so sad we don’t live closer to visit regularly. If you're on the fence, go—you won't regret it!

It truly breaks my heart to write this review because Mike’s American Grill has been a family favorite for years. We’ve been dining at this location for a long time, and it’s always been one of our go-to restaurants. This past Sunday, after a long day, we decided to skip cooking and enjoy dinner at Mike’s. We ordered two salmon entrées, one filet entrée, my husband had the Southwestern Salad, and of course, we couldn’t leave without sharing the bread pudding. Overall, the dine-in experience was pleasant. Our waitress seemed a bit overwhelmed, so we had to flag her down several times, and my daughter’s filet was overcooked and had to be sent back. Unfortunately, the replacement didn’t arrive until the rest of us had already finished eating. While we were eating, I tried a bite of my husband’s Southwestern Salad and was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. Since I’m trying to make healthier food choices, I ordered one to go before we left. For lunch the next day, I opened my to-go salad, and I was disappointed. While the toppings were packaged separately, the actual salad base was incredibly skimpy. There was very little lettuce, and the portion was nowhere near what my husband was served at the table. Even after adding all of the toppings, it still looked like a much smaller meal than the dine-in version. After spending over $240 (including tip), I expected the same quality and consistency whether I was dining in or taking my meal home. I don’t mind paying for quality, but I do expect to receive the same meal I ordered. I truly hope this was an isolated mistake because Mike’s American Grill has been one of our family’s favorite restaurants for years. I’m not writing this to complain for the sake of complaining—I genuinely want management to know that loyal customers notice when the quality and portions aren’t consistent. I hope this experience can be made right so we can continue recommending and supporting a restaurant we’ve enjoyed for so many years. Online picture, vs. what I took home.
