When I approached her for an update, she moved my bag out her line of sight and continued working on other orders. My burger sat for another 15 min before some else realized I was still waiting. They handed me the same burger that was sitting when the fries were ready. All the servers saw what happened and just laughed it off. Cold food, awful service.

My friend had already had an incredibly stressful day. She had flown back into town to begin moving her belongings out of the house she shared with her emotionally avoidant ex. She then discovered her car battery had died, and somewhere in the middle of all of that, a spider decided to attack her. Needless to say, she was already completely overwhelmed and ready for the day to be over. She ordered Five Guys because she wanted one decent meal after dealing with all of that. The order arrived, but the fries she paid for were completely missing. At most restaurants, forgetting a side is annoying. At Five Guys, forgetting the fries is forgetting one of the main reasons people order from you in the first place. They are not an afterthought. They are a major part of the meal. I understand restaurants get busy, and I know employees are human. But checking that every paid item is actually in the bag seems like a pretty basic step in the process. It may sound dramatic to be this disappointed over fries, but after the kind of day she had, this was the last thing she needed. It took what was already an exhausting, emotionally draining day and made it even more frustrating. If you’re charging Five Guys prices, customers should at least receive everything they paid for. Hopefully this location pays a little more attention to order accuracy in the future.
