I happened to be down in Spotsylvania and decided I wanted some breakfast. A quick Google search later gave me the Courthouse Cafe. This is one of those unassuming out of the way holes in the wall that doesn’t do anything but serve up great food. After debating my options I decided to go with a western omelette with rye toast and coffee. The coffee was standard diner fare - rich, robust and never ending. The omelette was a work of art. Probably the best western omelette I’ve had in 20 years. The vegetables inside were sautéed to perfection and plentiful, and they were encased in a moist not wet omelette that did its job exactly right. My server Patty was the right blend of attentive and hands off that kept my coffee coming but never became a nuisance. All in all, a great breakfast and I will be back.

THE BEST PIZZA AND CHEESESTEAK in Spotsy!! I ordered the Courthouse Special and everything on it is fresh and delicious. Generous amount of toppings -- crust is crispy and delicious and the sauce, perfect! I couldn't ask for a better pizza. My mother got the cheesesteak and it's everything you want in a cheesesteak: toasted roll, delicious melted cheese, lots of meat and SO MUCH FLAVOR. And we enjoyed the classic country music track in the background. I've always considered the Cafe to be a breakfast place. You're so missing out if you didn't catch on that it's a pizzeria, too!!

I’ve been coming here for a few weeks since my son has been in prek twice a week.
I love how close it is to his school.
I have never been dissatisfied with the food or service.
I have gotten the margarita pizza and a blueberry pancake 🥞. Sonia has helped me out today she had such amazing customer service and she had such a good personality I love her accent. I absolutely recommend this place.

Took my family of 4 (2 children under 5, my spouse and I) to Courthouse Cafe for dinner as first time customers. We will not return. We were greeted and told to sit anywhere, asked without menus in hand yet if we’d like to start off with drinks; we asked for 2 waters for the adults. We ordered an appetizer, kids chicken tenders, 2 burgers. The waitress asked if we wanted regular or onion rings with the burgers and so we did one of each. First, we were never offered to decide/order the drink that comes with the kids meal. Second, when we got the bill, which you don’t get an itemized order, just a total, it was clear we were charged for the sides of fries that came with the burgers; around $10 total extra. We didn’t know fries weren’t included by the way she asked to make a choice. Looking back at the menu, it does say drink+fries is extra. But again, we never were offered to order an included beverage with these meals or we would have. As frustrating and non transparent as the above was, what really was unprofessional in my opinion was that the waitress brought over the machine for payment with simply the total on the device and said I could pay when I was ready. She came back maybe 90 seconds later and said “the machine times out”, as I was caring for my children and hadn’t put my card in the machine yet. She then gave me the device and hovered over me until I put my card in and paid; mind you the options on screen are regarding tip as well which give you 4 very small circled options to choose; 20, 25, 30% or other which I presume would lead to a new screen. After selecting the tip, the options are “pay cash” or “pay with card” with 2 different totals, the card total presenting with a value one can assume are transaction fees passed onto the customer. If I knew I would be paying the 3-4% transaction fee not only on the price of the food but now also on the tip, I would have gone to my car to get cash. But again, I felt rushed since the machine “times out” and the waitress was hovering over me and watching the screen. I’m sure it’s their tactic to make as much money as possible, but really what they did is lose a return local customer. You can go to Itavie 2 minutes down the road, get larger portions, be offered everything that actually comes with your meal/you’re paying for, an itemized bill, no passed transaction fees, and no hovering, all for the same price.

I absolutely love coming here! The atmosphere is so comfortable and nostalgic, with that welcoming, family-owned, mom-and-pop feel. Food is yummy too for not a bad price!!!
Sonia is hands down the best server—highly, highly recommend asking for her! She is an absolute delight and has a way of making your heart happy before you leave. You could be having the worst day, and “Miss Bubbly” with her beautiful London accent, will have you smiling in no time! She’s incredibly attentive and always makes you feel important, no matter how busy she is. We’ll definitely keep coming back! She’s probably the biggest reason we go there!!!! Thank you Sonia, for excellent, hands-down the best, ever!!!!
