- EBEli BlevinsJun 22, 20262.0I used to frequent Krispy Kreme once a week as part of my weekly Laundromat trips. However, a few instances have greatly soured me on this location at least, even though I maintain Krispy Kreme is the supreme doughnut over all, especially when the Original Glazed is Fresh-N-Hot. Issue #1: there have been times in the past where the drive-thru was closed off because there was apparently not enough staff to run the drive-thru AND the Lobby. So customers, including myself, have been forced to go inside, and thus end up waiting rather unnecessary longer than usual wait times, and it was during one of these instances that I heard another customer ask one of the employees about if there was anymore employees who could come and help the obvious overworked crew. The employee responded with something akin to "we are short-staffed...and we can't hire anyone because we are at full staff." Which sounds like either false information from the employee, or the employee was repeating false information they had been fed from the manager. I walked out after that. Issue #2: it is very annoying to go through the drive-thru because the speaker's volume is is not nearly loud enough to always hear the employee taking the order, largely in part not only due to the low volume, but the AC or some sort ventilation system is located right in front of it and thus communicating is made difficult. Issue #3: I have worked customer service-from sit-down restaurants to sales to call centers to drive-thru's and at each and every single one of them I never was trained to say, with an attitude like taking an order is a direct assault on one's very being, with "Can I Help You?" dripping with rudeness. Yeah, drive-thru's and the customer service industry isn't unicorns and rainbows, but it is still a paid place of employment, and that means checking the attitude and with and each every greeting, it should be "Welcome To {insert name here}, How May I Help You?" Issue #4: The final issue is a doozy, and if it wasn't something that has been occurring for at least the better part of a year, I maybe a bit more understanding given that I know how the Milkshake Machine Issue is done at McDonald's (apparently McDonald's licenses certain machines and those machines must be serviced by repairmen who work for the same company, which is apparently why it takes McDonald's forever to get their machines fixed) but I have also worked at fast food places and know very well that "machine is broken" is code for "We Don't Want To Bother, So We Are Going To Say It's Broken So We Don't Have To Use It And Then Clean It." Legitimate situation of machine not working, yeah it happens, but I am not aware of such instances going past two, maybe three weeks. However, it appears that the machine that makes all but Hot Coffee and Iced Coffee has been "not working" for at least six months, and with the exception of one week where it was working, every time in the last six months I have stopped by on my Laundromat trips once a week, the machine is broken. It is broken too many times for it to be legitimate, and if it is legitimate, then maybe a change needs to be made because not addressing such an issue with competence and efficiency is a blaring example of not taking care of the issues that should, and NEED to be addressed promptly. All these issues have really given me considerations about to ever frequently this Krispy Kreme location in the future.
