I really really wanted to like Rice Field. I was personally invited by the manager, Anthony, to come out for R&B Night on August 15th and I came straight after getting off work around 7:30 PM. I had seen the restaurant for a while and was genuinely excited to finally experience it, especially after hearing such great things.
Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing from the moment I arrived.
The entrance was very unorganized. There wasn’t a clear line or direction on whether guests were supposed to wait to be seated, walk in, or go somewhere else. Even the people standing behind me were confused. I stood at the front for approximately 7–10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged that I was there. I completely understand that it was a busy night, but being busy doesn’t mean guests should feel invisible. Even a simple, “Hi, we’ll be with you in just a moment,” would have made a difference.
When I finally spoke with someone, I said I was fine sitting at the bar. I was directed to a seat that was still dirty, with cups and items from previous guests sitting in front of it. The manager began moving some of the items, but then walked away to assist someone else before making sure the area was actually cleaned or that I was properly seated.
I tried to be understanding because I assumed they may have been overwhelmed or short-staffed. However, I could see multiple staff members around, and some seemed more focused on recording how packed the restaurant was than making sure the guests already inside were being taken care of.
Another approximately 10 minutes passed before a bartender finally approached me. By then, I had been there close to 20 minutes without being properly seated, given a menu, offered water, or having an order taken.
While the bartender was apologizing and trying to clean the area, other guests came over and explained that the seat I had been given was actually theirs. I was moved down to another seat, only to find out that seat belonged to someone else as well. At that point, there wasn’t really an effort to find me an appropriate place to sit …… I was essentially left to figure it out.
That was the moment I decided to leave.
More than anything, I felt embarrassed and unseen. Being moved into other people’s seats while they were standing there looking at me was uncomfortable, especially after I had already spent so much time waiting just to be acknowledged.
As a business owner myself, I understand what it’s like to have an unexpectedly busy day. But the customer experience still has to remain a priority. You may not be able to immediately serve every person who walks through the door, but you can acknowledge them, communicate with them, and make sure they know what they’re supposed to do.
I was genuinely rooting for this place and came in excited to support it. Unfortunately, my experience made me feel like the appearance of having a packed restaurant was being prioritized over the experience of the customers actually inside of it.
I left without ever ordering anything, and unfortunately, I will not be returning😔

Excited to come try, walk in the door to a very loud DJ set, nobody at the door to greet us and the bartender trying to direct us to very uncomfortable high chairs directly in front of the DJ booth. Nope. I’m not trying to lose hearing while I eat. We just walked out. Maybe I’ll try another night, because I was excited to try the food, but I can’t think of a worse way to kill the vibe than having to yell to have a conversation while eating.
I honestly had no idea this place existed, and I’m so glad we found it! I came here with my girlfriend and we had such a great experience. The atmosphere was amazing, the food was excellent, and everyone on the staff was super friendly and welcoming.
A special shoutout to Anthony. He was incredibly friendly, professional, and just really cool and chill. He made us feel genuinely welcome and definitely made the whole experience even better.
We had such a great time that I’m already planning to come back with some of my coworkers. Definitely a place worth checking out!

If you’re looking for a great place to eat, definitely check out Rice Fields! Anthony, the owner, is absolutely hilarious, professional, and makes you feel like family from the moment you walk in. He really cares about his customers and makes sure everyone is enjoying their food. He even checks on you throughout your meal, which I really appreciated!
The restaurant is clean, welcoming, and has a really nice music playlist playing in the background. The food came out quickly, fresh, and HOT! Everything we had was delicious, but the spring rolls were especially good! 😋🔥
You can really tell that Anthony takes pride in his restaurant and wants everyone to have a great experience. If you’re looking for good food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere, definitely give Rice Fields a try! ❤️

Used to be my favorite place to get pho, but after the experience I just had today, will not be back. I found a hair in my bowl, sent it back and Anthony was very accommodating and got me another one on the house. Then ANOTHER piece of hair, BLACK, my hair is brown, told him again and this time he bought another one back and with a snarky remark, “I personally made the bowl, cleaned it myself but yeah I’ve been here for 2 years and Im still confused how that got there bc’s everyone’s hair is thick and that one in the bowl was thin(which was not) this has never happened” Ok.. so you are assuming I put it in there.
Will not be back but the asian girl employee is always nice. This sucks bc the flavor of their broth is amazing, the brisket is always good. But I can’t understand why I received such a passive aggressive tone for something that wasn’t my fault.
