  Oh, Food Lion, you PISSED ME OFF today. I have been going to this location for years. I know it's the worst food lion around: that the parking lot is going to be so revolting that I should make sure my child wears closed toes shoes, since it's been raining, & the parking lot is going to be like walking through a sewer filled with trash. I knew before I walked in today that the items this store stocks is lesser quality, less variety, and is less...let's call it "aesthetic" than any other food lion in a 10 mile radius. I know a quarter of the staff will be *beyond awesome* & the rest will be stupified, apathetic & resentful to be there. I pulled bananas, eggplant, strawberries, apples, avocadoes, tomatoes from produce section that all were covered in mold on the shelves, and 8 corn with live worms today. But I still go here regularly only for convenience/ the fact that there is simply not another grocery store in the immediate vicinity. But today, yall pissed me all the way off. I was walking with my young child as I pushed my cart full of groceries I just purchased back to my car. Suddenly, in the middle of the road, between the store and the first row of parked cars, my cart inexplicably jams. It absolutely will not budge, & I am left struggling to get my child out of harm's way while trying without success to pull a cart full of groceries out of the middle of the road. Cars are WELL KNOWN to drive around this parking lot recklessly, often weaving to get around the 20+ cars parked in the fire lane along the entire property-not just food lion. Now, I had just done a desperately needed restock of canned groceries and my cart was heavy to begin with, and now I'm stuck IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD with a cart that has suddenly frozen, and a child beside me while I struggle to drag my cart out OF THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. I had to abandon my cart full of groceries id just paid for, walk my child to the car and put her in it and go back to get my cart. As I return i hear someone holler "Hey, wait!" And turn to see a friendly, elderly man in a food lion uniform limping quickly in my direction. I'd seen him earlier with the carts, so i stopped and waited for him. He gets near me, and I see a machine in his hand. He pressed a green button, and instantly my cart is unfrozen & moveable. He points to some lines on the ground & explains that Food Lion now has locks on the carts, & if you push the cart beyond a certain point, they will lock. (He was great, btw.) I'm not unfamiliar with the concept; but this has never happened to me at this location so this must be a newer thing. I get it; i'm sure the carts walk away. I've never been to any other food lion that has a security guard either, so yeah, I get the idea- but the implementation of this policy is HORRIBLE. I am attaching a maps image of where i parked (yellow), where i was walking & was left stranded, (dark pink) & where the "cart lock wires" are now in the pavement. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD CARTS BE LOCKED WHILE PEDESTRIANS ARE WALKING ACROSS THE MAIN DRIVING AREA OF THE PLAZA. The perimeter of space a customer can bring a cart before it locks without warning is laughably small. Look where I am parked in relation to the front doors. KNOWING that the traffic pattern in this plaza is chaotic and people drive fast here, YOU ARE PUTTING PEOPLE AT RISK OF BEING HIT BY A CAR. YOU PUT MY CHILD AT RISK OF BEING HIT BY A CAR. YOU PUT ME AT RISK OF BEING HIT BY A CAR. if you're going to lock the carts, at **least*** let people walk TO THE PARKING LOT before you lock them, for gods' sakes. Additionally, this policy- implemented in the way it is currently, is putting people who are disabled, elderly, and those with children at an extreme disadvantage. You expect a customer to stand in the middle of traffic until an employee notices they are stuck, and have to drop what they are doing to rush over and unlock a cart? Unbelievable. I demand and expect to have this issue resolved immediately for the safety of every customer of every business in this plaza.

  Very nice and I saw a steam table that serve hot food during lunch time and I thought that was nice. Great sales and the arrangement is different than the other food lions. Example...fresh vegs towards the back. I just like going to different ones. Tried this one.
