  I had the pleasure of having James at the deli counter help me yesterday. Delicious fried chicken was on sale for $5 for 8 pcs. I arrived around 630. The dark meat option was sold out. He was extremely generous and offered to make me a fresh batch. He turned in the fryers that were already shut down for the night and whipped up an 8 piece regular and an 8 piece spicy. 20 mins later I had the freshest hand battered 🐓 made with care. He went above and beyond to make to help me and I’m extremely grateful. James, is a valuable asset to the company and I felt compelled to share my experience and complete satisfaction.

  Along with the other employees Bart,a cashier, has upped the rating for the checkout dept. if he’s working and not backed up with other shoppers I try to get in his line. Always a pleasant word when he sees a regular customer. Bart deserves further recognition from Giant.

  Staff are great, prices are high, and the new store decor is awful. Whoever decided to have a grey curling with grey walls and grey floor was a good idea should be fired. The old white and yellow look was much brighter and looked so much better than the new look. I have been going to this giant for 15 years and it’s disappointing to see it going in this direction. Shoutout to the self checkout guy though, he’s a G.

  This has been my home store for 4 1/2 years. After ~2 decades in a state where I almost exclusively shopped at locations of the "#1" grocery store in the country for customer satisfaction, community involvement, etc., I have VERY high standards. And I LOVE the Oakton Giant. I know much of the staff by name (Jefferson, Audrey, Bart... Alyx and a few other young people whom I assume have moved on after HS,) along with of course the more visible managers who are ALWAYS helpful and promptly address any questions or issues, price differences, etc should that come up (rarely!) The bakery staff always does a wonderful job, and also once did not have anyone available to decorate the top of a cake due to my last minute request; an assistant manager kindly offered to do her best anyway, warning she was not skilled in it; we were delighted that she'd try and we all laughed that it was a fun story, didn't need to perfect! The current (mostly if not all new) sushi staff is RIDICULOUSLY friendly and customer-oriented, so I'm excited about that. The new renovations are great, but my family and I would stop going to this location if the people there were removed. ((As the anchor store, I do wish Giant would ask the shopping center to replace the stop signs in the parking lot.))
