  I love an occasional burger from here. My stomach and wallet can't make this a regular choice, but I like it. On this visit, it was National Cheeseburgers Day so the place was chaotic. I didn't understand how I placed an on line order and set it for a future pickup time, not ASAP. I set it for about 45 minutes later. I got there slightly past the chosen pick up time. I watched people place orders at the counter and have their food before my order. I didn't understand how that works. My thought process was, workers know, at 5p (for example) they're gonna need x amount of burgers done and bagged for on line orders while still pushing in store orders, so I'm not sure how orders like mine, ordered 45 minutes, an hour, or more, were being made later. Until I received my order, it was nearly 60-90 minutes since I had placed the order and at least 30 minutes last mu requested pick up time. I ordered a large fry, it barely filled the fry bag. Fortunately the burgers were good, since I got cheated on time and fries. BTW, the fries were under cooked and very soggy. Probably not worth the 4 stars, but usually these guys do a better job.

  Ordered pick up online. Manager seemed exasperated. Said thank you to the young man who handed my my cup, and again when he handed me my food. Both times he just gave me a blank look and then walked away. Manager saw and gave me this look like "too bad" but didn't say or do anything about it. Ordering online defaults you to leave a tip. Never pre-tipping again. I don't need to be pampered, just how about some human decency? Food was fine.

  **** update 10/10/26, now I feel like a jerk. A little. The soda machines I had a problem with were brand new, and they didn’t tell the employees about them. Zero and Diet sodas ARE included! The machine UI behavior changed drastically. And the unit was not set up yet. Employee didn’t know what was in the store, and I was in a bad mood. (This was previously a one star review) Original unedited. Whose idea was it to replace the soda machines people loved with units that have almost no low-sugar options? I’m diabetic. I paid about $3 for a cup, got to the machine, and found there was literally nothing I could drink. I asked for my money back. They said there was no way. So I left the cup there and walked out—for the last time. I was a loyal customer for years, going back to the first few Five Guys locations around DC. But this is how you turn loyal customers into former customers: remove staples people count on, then refuse to refund them when the replacement doesn’t work for them. It’s three dollars. Build a way to refund it. Before you make even more ex-customers. Oh, and CrAzY expensive. 10 years ago, I would have laughed at the idea of spending $30 for a burger, fry and shake from a fast food joint.
