I am leaving a one star because of how store management handled a serious, documented complaint—not because of the products or ordinary frontline employees. On September 3, I filed a formal complaint through Food Lion corporate regarding highly private personal information and damaging allegations about me being discussed by an employee in the workplace. Food Lion issued a complaint reference number and routed the matter back to this store. I was subsequently informed that the store manager rolled his eyes while handing the complaint to the front-end manager. That response gave me no confidence that the complaint was being treated professionally or impartially. I am not asking Food Lion to take sides in a private relationship matter. I am asking whether its workplace and management personnel consider it acceptable for employees to spread intimate personal information and serious allegations about a local resident. I have retained my documentation and complaint reference number. I am requesting that district management or corporate HR—not the same local management—conduct a professional review. I will update this review if Food Lion addresses the matter appropriately.
