Great for Drinks and Bar Vibes, but a Disappointing Dinner Experience
Overall Impression:
If you are looking for a lively spot to grab a drink, this place is a good option. It has a great bar vibe and a solid drink menu. However, if you are looking strictly for a dinner destination, I highly suggest choosing one of the many restaurants downtown instead.
Atmosphere & Service:
Our party of six visited on a Friday night. The indoor live music was loud that conversation was difficult. I should have checked beforehand, that's on me. Unfortunately, the weather didn't allow us to sit on the patio to enjoy the views, which was our initial draw. While the staff was very friendly and our server was engaging, the service itself was lacking. We had to ask multiple people several times for basic necessities like plates and utensils after our appetizers arrived, and several forgotten drink orders had to be reminded.
Food & Menu Discrepancies:
The menu is very small and skewed heavily toward spicy dishes. Even the burger—which I assumed was a safe, non-spicy choice—turned out to be spicy, though it wasn't noted in the description. Vegetarian options are also severely limited to just two types of salad. Because of this, a vegetarian member of our party had to order an appetizer as their main entree. Also, one of our appetizers was completely different from the description and photo on both the physical menu and the website. When we questioned it, the server simply stated they changed how they prepare it, offering no apology, solution, or adjustment to the bill. We should have been made aware of the change when placing the order.
Allergy Mishandling:
The biggest issue of the night was how my cucumber allergy was handled. I informed the server and asked if the house sauce contained relish. He was unsure, but after checking, initially told me it was safe. Thankfully, a kitchen staff member intervened to update him, noting that it did contain cucumber products. The server then put a specific note in the system for no cucumber or pickles of any kind.
Despite this, when the entrees arrived, there was confusion and uncertainty with the burgers. The other two burgers at the table came out with pickles, and my allergy-restricted plate arrived last—also with a pickle on it. When I pointed this out, the runner attempted to just grab the pickle off the plate. Because of cross-contamination with the juice, I told her I couldn't eat it. She took the plate back and returned just a few minutes later - too quickly for a burger to be remade. Suspecting they just flipped the entrée onto a new plate, I didn't trust the meal and decided to only eat a the burger without the bun.
By the time my food returned, the rest of my party was almost finished eating and ready to leave. I didn't want to escalate things in the moment, but I will definitely be following up with management during the week. Proceed with caution if you have food allergies.
