  1 star was my only option, shouldn't have any. Not sure what this store's issue is but it hasn't ran good in over 20 years. Nasty, poorly stocked and horrible customer service. 20 minutes down the road another Food Lion that is the exact opposite and easy 5 star Week in and week out.

  We'll start with the biggest positive. The staff here is genuinely friendly. It's got that small-town, everybody-knows-everybody kind of feel, and that's something you just can't manufacture. This store is a little nostalgic for me, too. I grew up about seven miles down the road, and this was "the big trip" to the grocery store long before it was even a Food Lion... at least if my memory is serving me correctly. Walking through the doors brought back a lot of memories. One piece of advice: keep your head on a swivel in the parking lot. Folks seem to have somewhere very important to be, and shopping carts apparently have diplomatic immunity. Look both ways before crossing. Inside, the selection is actually quite good. They had everything I was looking for, and the store was clean and easy to shop. The only thing that gave me pause was the pricing. A local told me this might be the most expensive Food Lion in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and after seeing nearly a six-dollar gallon of milk, I'm not prepared to argue the point. To be fair, they also had the Food Lion brand for roughly a third of the price, so naturally I bought one of each. Consider it independent milk research in the interest of science. I'll report back once the taste test is complete. If the expensive milk starts mowing my lawn or paying my mortgage, I'll gladly admit it was worth the upgrade. Until then, this is still a friendly hometown grocery store with a solid selection. Just bring your wallet... and maybe your running shoes for the parking lot.

  It's a good and reliable food Lion, I like how this one is here in a town where there's not too much to visit. Friendly and warm inside the building and good people outside of the building too
