My family waited over 30 minutes for our order. I finally went to the counter and politely asked what was taking so long and was told they did not have anyone available to make the iced coffee that was part of our order. They then gave me our food, which had been sitting in the kitchen on a tray the entire time. By the time we received it, the food was completely cold. There was also a fly in my drink. I politely asked for fresh fries and a replacement drink. After waiting another five to ten minutes and not being helped, I walked over to the side of the counter and said that I needed a manager. The manager came over and immediately told me that if I crossed a line near the counter again, I would be removed from the property. There was no line or sign there. I did not walk into the back or enter the kitchen. I simply stepped beside the counter because he and the other employees were not acknowledging those of us waiting at the counter. I was trying to get someone's attention after waiting for our food and then waiting again to have the problems with it corrected. There was no reason for the situation to escalate to being told I would be removed from the property simply for trying to get the manager's attention. I was obviously upset after this. The manager rudely stated that they were short-handed. I pointed out that an employee was sitting in the dining area on a break while customers were waiting. He became upset and yelled that the employee was a child and was required to have a break. I have absolutely no problem with an employee receiving a break. The staffing situation was not my responsibility, however, and it did not change what had happened with our order. By this time, it had been pushing an hour since we ordered our food. I never received fresh fries or a replacement drink without a fly in it, and the rest of the food went in the trash. I have tried to support our local Grottoes McDonald’s even though, most of the time, the orders are wrong and the waits are long. In fact, I have earned over 60,000 Rewards Points from this location. However, after this experience, my family and I will not be returning to this location or any other location owned by APB Restaurants unless I receive a refund and a written apology for the service we received.

For being a brand-new fast-food restaurant, such as McDonald’s and Grottoes, it’s pretty sad when you have to wait 25 minutes just to order your food inside. We had no choice but to go inside because we were pulling a trailer and couldn’t fit through the drive-thru. While standing there for 25 minutes, I watched people go through the drive-thru, order their food, and get it just as quickly as they ordered it. Meanwhile, those of us inside were left standing around waiting way too long. And then there was what I witnessed in the back—kids laughing, jumping around, and whooping and hollering. I didn’t see a manager anywhere. If there was one, they certainly weren’t doing much to take control of the situation. With food prices being what they are today, customers shouldn’t have to wait 25 minutes for their food at a FAST FOOD restaurant. That’s literally why it’s called fast food! Unfortunately, our experience got even worse. We were busy this evening, so we stopped and ordered food because we needed something quick. We got home, opened the bags, and none of the food we ordered was correct except for my daughter’s chicken sandwich. Yes, we could have checked the bags before we left, and that part is on us for trusting that our order would be right. But when you spend that much money on food, you shouldn’t have to double-check every single item because you can’t trust the restaurant to give you what you paid for. They need to do better. Something needs to change. Someone needs to step up and actually be a manager—not just a friend to the employees. There needs to be accountability, leadership, and some pride in the service being provided. Fast food doesn’t have to be perfect, but this was completely unacceptable. Do better.

Horrible service. I ordered my food at the drive thru speaker at 12:15. I didn't make it to the first window until 12:31. Looking into the second window, the kitchen space looked like a tornado had gone through. Our food was not great either. The fries were soggy and cold. And it looked like an explosion of mustard inside the bag. I couldn't touch anything in the bag without getting mustard all over my hands. The employees were pleasant, but I don't think they have been trained properly.
