  My only gripe about food lion is all the stores are not laid out the same. It takes extra time when I go to a different one because each one has stuff in different locations.

  Food Lion produce. I cannot say how many times I've been totally disappointed in Food Lion produce. It is simply bad no matter whether I'm shopping at Gordonsville, Orange or Ruckersville. They must get culled leftovers from other stores that provide bettern quality fruits and vegetables. This week, I picked up a package of Food Lion brand cherry tomatoes. They were hard, wrinkled and some had spots indicating they were about to spoil. When I went to get green beans, the loose green beans were discolored and shriveled, ready for the compost heap. So I opted to get a plastic packaged bag of Food Lion brand green beans. I got home and many were mashed, ends were darkened and some downright slimey looking. How does a grocery store get away with offering this kind of produce? Orange County can do better than this and approach another chain to come in and compete with the Food Lion mess. The store is OK for packaged foods and I generally find what I'm looking for. But I will start going somewhere else rather than paying for such disappointing produce that should not even be on the shelf for sale. I'm baffled why Food Lion's overall rating is over 4 stars. It should be between 2 and 3.

  I would give a 5 star because it is very clean and a good selection but their steak selection was terrible. I really wanted to get some good steaks for Fathers day but we ended up with some pretty thick cut pork chips!
