  2PM, a few vendors, and a moderate amount of customers. There were 2 checkouts open, and of course most people decided to check out at the same time! LOL Store #2507, register 8, rcpt says "cashier 0213." Date: Aug 3, time 14:13:55. I don't know if this was her register or someone else's. I didn't get her name, but I think maybe she was a department manager based on the color of her uniform, which I think was pink.And I think she had on a different kind of name.Tag. and she had blonde hair. I had brought my own bags. So I told her if she would just slide them down. I would bag them. I was making small talk while she was checking me out; I used to be a cashier at winn dixie and I was saying that we had paper bags. And we didn't like it when the plastic bags came in, because it was faster with the paper bags. I don't know if she ever said anything to me during that time, except to tell me that the machine, where you put your credit card to pay was"waiting on me." I was also the bookkeeper, so I know it's frustrating when you have to check people out and you have other work to do. But it is still your responsibility to be polite to the customers, or you won't have to worry about having other work to do.

  Today after getting off work and dropping my son off to his job at Publix, I stopped at Food Lion in Glen Allen. It was busy and there were several lines with people waiting. A cashier, who was not wearing his name tag, Evan Kushner (I had to ask him his name) came out and opened a register. I hadn't yet put my groceries on the belt because there was a lady checking out and another lady in line with a basket of groceries. After Evan announced he was opening a register, I said I was next in line. He said "Well you can stay there because you're almost up to the cashier." The lady in the front of my line said, "Not really. She isn't." She offered to pay for my groceries so that I could get out of line sooner, but I declined. He started taking customers who were in line behind me. Evan engaged in a verbal exchange with me while he waiting on customers. Well Evan, I was next in line and this could have been avoided if you had taken me next. Do you think I have nothing better to do than stand in line at Food Lion after working all day. Evan work on your customer services skills and wear your nametag so you can easily be identified when people want to complain about you. The lady at the other register checked me out and thanked me for coming in without incident. I'm glad someone is willing to provide good customer service. Hey Food Lion there are many options for grocery shopping in the West End, tell Evan. One star for Evan and 4 stars for the other cashier next to him.
