Well, this is the third time I have visited this place. The food is decent, the environment is clean and welcoming. The issue is that the portions they provide are as if theyre trying to feed a person on a strict 200-300 calorie per meal diet, while charging more than Chipotle and Roots for far less. (Both of which give more than 2-3 times the amount of food than this place.) I'm by no means a large or obese person, (Im a 6 ft 4 190lb body builder) but if I am hungry and ask for more rice, they won't give more without charging for double while giving less than the double portion.
Their protein is overpriced, paid for extra and the lady behind the counter added 3 little pieces of meat instead of a full scoop. When called out on this, she added 2 additional small pieces.
Their steak is $7.50, which is almost the price of an entrée at any other restaurant. ($5-$6 more than this price and you could get a full course meal at Plaza Azteca)
They charge extra for every additional SINGULAR grain of rice. Had to ask for extra of every single thing more than 2-3 times for every single ingredient and even then they provided a skimp portion even when Im paying extra for it. (If I'm paying for double, give me DOUBLE, like what the heck are these 1/8 scoops) Its like I had to beg for my food. I would have been better off buying 2 separate bowls to get ONE single meal portion. I ended up paying $37 for ONE bowl that still was not filled up. I'm literally never returning here ever again. This is the third and last time.
I recommend everyone avoid this location and go to Chipotle or Roots. This place offers portions for 5 year olds. Meanwhile, you want to eat like an adult: You can cross the street and get 1200 calories for $13. The 1 star in this review is representative of the fact that the food is actually decent tasting and the atmosphere is nice. If I could give negative stars, I would.

I was a mezeh lover but recently, their Forest Ave location started weighing their food on a scale, right in front of you on the line. After that, I walked out and came to Cava and I’m so glad I did. During my first visit, Dani helped me choose a dressing and went above and beyond by even introducing me to mixing dressings! I waited to write this review until my 2nd visit, and it was consistent! Leah, was super friendly, patient, and bubbly! My food here is always fresh, the drinks are always full, it’s super clean in there, and staff is polite. I will probably never visit Mezeh again.

Love Cava!! Staff is always nice and welcoming. Food is always fresh. Restaurant is always clean. The only issue I have is that it seems as if they are giving out less protein (chicken) than they used to. The bowls used to receive a fairly decent amount. Now it is as if they are scooping way less protein into your bowl than what you are actually paying for. I know things are quite pricey nowadays but for $17-$18 a bowl, a person should receive what they are paying for.
