We’ve been here twice. The first time was for takeout when they first opened. It was unremarkable. Recently, we took visiting family for dinner after moving to an area where it’s walkable. Our food took a very long time and the service was not good. There was no acknowledgment or apology for the delay, even after we needed to ask if our food was still coming. Food itself was pretty good but not worth the kind of wait we endured. We won’t be back.

First of all… I drink strong coffee. Good coffee. And I have a real issue with most American coffee because it often falls short of what I like. But Harvey’s made my coffee perfectly. Honestly, that alone is a good enough reason for me to come back!
We ordered the Sage & Smoke Platter, Nordic Platter, Chicken Cobb Salad, and Honey Cake. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The honey cake was a standout for me. It tasted very natural and organic, and I especially appreciated that it wasn’t overly sweet.
What made the experience even better was the service. Xander and Thomas were absolutely wonderful: friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Great food is important, but great people are what turn a restaurant into a place you want to return to again and again.
We’ll definitely be back and will happily become loyal patrons. Thank you, Xander and Thomas, for making our visit so enjoyable!

Let's start with what was best about the experience, the service. Chris, our waiter, was very engaging. He checked on us regularly without being annoying. My water was kept topped off which is important to me. He was very enthusiastic about the restaurant and the dishes.
The highlight of the meal was the onion dip. Their onion dip was simply amazing! It was served with perfectly toasted crustini and well seasoned cracklin. I would rate the onion dip appetizer a 6 out of 5 - it was really good. I had the Cubano sandwich which was hearty, flavorful, and filling but dry. Not the worst version I have had but not the best. It was perfectly serviceable - a low 4 out of 5. My daughter loved the cheeseburger and tasted it a 5 out of 5. I didn't think the fries were great but they weren't bad. The shrimp and grits are a little different than traditional with a smokey sauce covering the dish. The last 2 in our group who ordered it probably wouldn't order it again. But to be fair, it's a different take on the dish and we were expecting more of a Savannah version which is light and fresh. Due to the sauce, this was heavier and bold.
The cheesecake was good and the bread pudding was excellent as dessert. I ended up taking half my Cubano sandwich home for lunch today and it reheated well. Adding sauce helped it from being to dry.
An overall great experience and I would recommend. Lots of choices on the menu, next time we're going to try the duck, generally one of my favorite dishes, and the fish and chips.
This has quickly become my favorite neighborhood spot. I love the food and atmosphere and it's so relaxing. The service is amazing and I have an addiction to the barber sauce!! Must try - I am definitely a regular now 🙂
