Made the Right Way. Every Day. There's a reason our bagels taste different--they're made the traditional way. At Manhattan Bagel, we give each bagel a dip in a kettle of boiling water, then bake them fresh each morning. That's how we get our authentic shiny bagels with a crispy, golden crust on the outside and that soft, satisfying chew inside. No shortcuts. Just real, authentic bagels made the way they were always meant to be. We kettle-boil our bagels to lock in that shine and crunch, then bake them fresh daily for a chewy, golden bite. No shortcuts, just the classic NY method - done right, right here, every day.
Just moved to Virginia & decided to check out this bagel shop. Their bagels are fresh. I’ve tried the nova lox which was delicious also a classic plain cream cheese with poppy seed bagel and a ham, egg and cheese on an egg bagel. All were delicious. My new favorite place. Service was great friendly and quick.

First time visit review. We ordered a nova lox on everything bagel. The everything seasoning had too much salt in it, but the bagel texture was fine. The lox did not have the smoked buttery flavor I was expecting from quality, rather it had a suspiciously fishy smell and taste instead. Could not finish and had to toss.

I ordered the Santa Fe Breakfast Burrito for the first time, and the tortilla had a funky smell that reminded me of an old tortilla. I mentioned it to the cashier and asked if I could simply swap it for a bagel sandwich instead.
One of the older Korean employees came from the kitchen and told me the smell was coming from the turkey sausage. I explained that I eat turkey sausage regularly and didn’t believe that was the cause. Regardless, I told her that I didn’t like the smell or taste and just wanted to exchange it for something else.
Instead of trying to resolve the issue, she became argumentative and raised her voice. At that point, I asked for a refund and decided I won’t be coming back.
I’ve been a customer here for years, so I was surprised by how this was handled. It makes no sense to lose a long-time customer over a simple food swap. A little better customer service could have easily resolved the situation.

I've been frequenting this place for years, long before the owners sold and Korean ownership took over. The service here is solid, and if you come here often enough, these sweet people get to know you and your order (if you order the same every time) they are attentive that way. That's nice. It makes you feel like you matter. 5 Stars for service. On the food- this has somewhat dropped off- especially during the busy breakfast rush where there are long lines. The eggs & bacon can be greasy- and sometimes I've got some "tummy troubles" after having a BE&C bagel- though it tastes good. They are slamming out food QUICK- it takes like 2 minutes tops to get my sandwich- amazing! But the quality is a bit down. Plus the prices have gone up quite a bit, and even though egg prices have come back down, they have not brought prices back down to help out. I get it but geez. And if you want butter on your bagel- they charge you for it. So it's $10 for a BE&C bagel- when 3 years ago it was $6. I know I'm crying a river- but it's cheaper elsewhere- so I've cut back my visits here. Unfortunate, because the team there is good, and the customer service is outstanding. They work really hard there. 4 thumbs up!

I've always had positive experiences here, so it bums me out to leave a 3-star review. Unfortunately my last two visits haven't been great. One time I found a hair in my breakfast sandwich (May 22), and on my most recent visit (July 11), I waited about 10 minutes for my drink, and my sandwich was made incorrectly.
I'm hoping they can be a little more consistent with both quality and service because I'd love to keep coming back.
