- VDVincenzo DeFranks2 days ago3.0I wanted to like Wagamama more than I did. The restaurant itself is nice, and the location in Clarendon is convenient, but the experience just didn't live up to the hype for me. The service was disappointing. The staff seemed uninterested and inattentive, which made the overall experience feel less welcoming than it should have been. As for the food, it was decent, but it lacked the authenticity and character I look for. Living in the Arlington area, we're fortunate to have access to so many outstanding and authentic Asian restaurants. Compared to many of those local options, Wagamama felt a bit watered down and corporate. The dishes looked good but didn't have the depth of flavor or soul that makes you excited to come back. It's not a bad restaurant by any means, but with so many incredible dining choices nearby, I don't see myself choosing Wagamama over the many authentic spots that make this area's food scene so special.

Apps came quickly but entrees took a very long time even though business was slow (at 7:30 on a beautiful Friday evening). Food was mid. The dumplings we ordered were identical to ones we buy frozen at Costco. They were warm on one side but still cold on the other. Ramen and Pad Thai entrees were pretty good. Price is a lot for casual Asian food but that is to be expected in Clarendon. $9.50 for a Singha or Kirin beer is excessive. Overall, we probably wont go back. Too many superior Asian restaurants in Arlington.

- DBDavid P BAug 13, 20265.0I first went to Wagamama’s in London in 1996. Love the concept and this is a great location and nice addition to the Clarendon neighborhood. Yaki Soba is my go to dish and the cocktails are nice especially the spicy margarita.
