  Every visit reminds me why I keep coming back. The store is clean, products are consistently fresh, and the employees are respectful without being overly formal. Grocery shopping here always feels simple and enjoyable.

  Watch the checkout screens closely for mistakes!!!! Expect mixed results for customer service. I went to this store on 2026-06-25 and checked out at 12:50. Immediately inside the produce section was a big sign advertising cherries for $2.99 a pound which was $2.00 off of the regular 4.99 price. So, I added a bag to my cart. While checking out, I noticed that the price rang up as $4.99 and it wasn't followed by the expected "You saved" line. I raised the issue with the cashier K who looked over her shoulder at the sign. She asked Daej..., who was apparently the lead cashier at the time how to adjust the price. D went to the sign and read it finding a date that I presume is for the store employees to take down the sign. D said the sale had expired. I asked for the posted price and she refused stating that the sale had expired. I then said that she should honor the posted price and take the sign down. She refused on both counts. About. six months ago, a sale price had been left up by mistake at the Food Lion closest to me. They honored the posted price and took down the sign. That's what should have happened here. I felt like a bait and switch was going on and had the cherries removed from my ticket. K apologized while D just walked away without showing any empathy. D showed no interest in customer service or loyalty. The funny thing is that K had rung up the cherries. But something went wrong and they didn't appear on the screen. She missed it. I noticed and had K correct the problem. That was when I noticed the price discrepancy. Had I not noticed, or been unethical, the cherries would have been free.

  This is my regular Food Lion. But today I had an extraordinary experience while there. My three youngest children and I went grocery shopping. Nothing out of the ordinary. That was until we reached the checkout line. We went to the register where no one else was in line. We walked up and began to load our groceries onto the belt. When I turned to my left there was the cashier. Actually helping load our groceries onto the belt. I have never experienced this. This may seem small or insignificant to other people. But for me this was amazing. In such a cold world that we live in this man went above and beyond. Engaged with my children while helping load our groceries onto the belt. Even gave them a sheet of spiderman stickers to pick from. ( We are big Marvel fans) Which he bought them with his own money. I could tell. I'm regretful to say I do not remember his name. But he does have facial tattoos. I have several tattoos as well. This man deserves a raise! Thank you so much sir! You really made my day!
