did staff go through some changes recently? i used to love visiting food lion with my ai nonbinary partner, but now when i visit the atmosphere is dim and all the cashiers seem really sad. the young man at the front with a charming smile doesn't even smile anymore... what's going on?

I have been a customer for this location for over 10+ years and my experience today almost negated it all. I had a employee rotate walk around me 7 or 8 times as I used the self check out. I was the only customer in that section, among 3 other self check out stations. Yet, she intentionally only circle around my station, as if monitoring a potential thief. Then as I walk out, feeling disturbed from that encounter, the door alarm goes off and my cart wheels are restricted as if I were a thief. I have never stolen anything in my life, and I was in the store with my 8 year old son, who was clearly wearing a private school uniform. So, I definitely have the funds for my purchase. I was so embarrassed and offended. The same employee watching me at self check out had to release my cart to exit the store. I'm not sure if I will return to this location.

None of the self check puts have been accepting cash, legal tender, for the past week and none of the employees care enough to run a single register to accept cash only customers. The employees will sit and stare at you at a register and refuse to do anything to help a paying customer.
