  We chose El Rodeo on South Main for a graduation celebration hoping for a great meal, but unfortunately, the food and service fell short of our expectations. The Food: Overall, the dishes lacked flavor. Everything we ordered—including the tacos and fajitas—was incredibly bland, lacking both basic seasoning/salt and any real depth of spice. Even the complimentary chips and salsa were a letdown; the chips were served cold and tasted stale, and the salsa seemed like it came straight out of a can. When we asked for a spicy salsa, the staff mentioned they would make one from scratch. While we appreciated the effort, it took a very long time to arrive and ultimately wasn't up to the mark. The Service: The biggest issue of the night was the timing of our meals. The kitchen completely forgot one of our guest's burrito orders. By the time it finally arrived at the table, the rest of our party was already finishing up their meals, which was incredibly awkward and frustrating for a celebratory dinner. Between the flavorless food and the major service oversight, it was a very disappointing experience.

  I love El Rodeo South Main! Staff is always so friendly and everything is affordable without sacrificing quality. 5 stars!

  Came last Saturday for dinner with my friend and the restaurant was an absolute train wreck. We waited over 20 minutes to be seated, and they took a group that came in after us because they bribed them with $20. When we sat down, the server didn’t exchange any pleasantries, he just asked us what we wanted. We never received plates with our salsa. We never saw our server until our food came out nearly an hour later. He saw that we’re getting boxes and said “oh did the food take too long” .. yeah an hour is ridiculous. This was also after we had to chase down the restaurant staff for boxes and silverware, because we were too tired and annoyed to stay and eat it. The food was also mid and not worth the wait. Mine came with peppers when it wasn’t listed on the menu. They also didn’t give my friend her sides. I’d definitely wouldn’t recommend wasting your time coming here.

  Super clean and the staff were very nice and helpful. Only issue was with the food. Asked if my dish came with onions in it, was told no, but it ended up still having onions. Disappointing but not the end of the world. The real problem was that my dish had chicken bone in it. Not entirely sure what it was actually, but it was hard, thin, long, and definitely not edible, and considering my dish had chicken in it, that's my best guess.
