  I was a loyal Food Lion customer until today. After scanning a roll of tape I was buying, the cashier forcefully slammed it onto the counter while I was paying with Apple Pay, staring at me with obvious hostility. When the receipt printed, he held it up and handed it to me with just his fingertips, still glaring at me. I left feeling humiliated and discriminated against. No customer deserves this kind of treatment. Food Lion has lost a loyal customer. I'll gladly shop elsewhere and will never return. Best of luck.

  I had a very disappointing experience at this Food Lion on June 28, 2026, between approximately 7:45 and 7:46 a.m. I had only four items and approached a register where a young cashier with black hair was standing. Her register light was on, she was standing at the register, and she was not assisting another customer. As I walked toward her, she turned her back to me without any acknowledgment and walked away from the register. The only other cashier was already ringing up a customer with a significantly larger order leaving me with no option but to wait while an available register remained unused. After I completed my purchase, the same cashier returned to that register and resumed standing there, confirming that she had been available the entire time. This was not a matter of the register being closed. It was open, the light was on, and the cashier was available. The store’s surveillance cameras should confirm exactly what occurred during the timeframe referenced above. This level of customer service is unacceptable and reflects poorly on the management and training of your staff. If this is the standard of service your store considers acceptable, you will not have to worry about me returning. I hope this matter is reviewed and addressed so other customers are not treated the same way.

  I’m disappointed with the meat department at this Food Lion. On Sunday, May 24th, I purchased two of the Nature’s Promise New York Strip steaks, only to realize later that the packages were labeled “Sell By/Freeze By May 22.” The date was printed in very small text on the back, and the steaks were still being sold at full price with no markdown or manager’s special label. I’ll admit that I should have checked the date more carefully before purchasing them, but it is the expectation that products on the shelf are being properly rotated and sold within their recommended sale window - or at least being labeled and marked-down if approaching the sell by date. Finding meat still being sold two days past the labeled date was frustrating and disappointing. Unfortunately, this seems to be a consistent issue with the meat department. There is often a very limited selection of truly fresh meat available, and a large portion of the meat section is frequently labeled as “Manager’s Special,” which gives the impression that products are consistently nearing the end of their shelf life rather than being freshly stocked. The chicken section is also frequently unpleasant, with leaking packages, leaving strong odors on hands after handling. It raises concerns about cleanliness, freshness, and overall quality control in the meat department.
