The way I was looking for an authentic Egyptian place in the dmv area and finally landed on the King of Koshary!! We initially came for the seafood, but ended up ordering a lot of other food like Hawashi, Ox tail, Molokhya and rice, Kawarah soup and it all came 10/10 , the food was beautifully and automatically seasoned; it took us back to our old Egyptian taste. We finally ended up ordering their delicious authentic mango juice and oum ali, I literally felt like I traveled to Egypt. Totally recommend, even the atmosphere with the Egyptian music is so relaxing and laid back.

I honestly had one of the best Egyptian food experiences in Virginia at King of Koshary. I went there with my family for lunch, and everything we ordered tasted fresh, authentic, and full of flavor — just like homemade food in Egypt.
We started with the mixed grill, and the kofta was absolutely delicious, juicy, and very close to the real Egyptian taste. The falafel was incredibly fluffy on the inside with the perfect crispy texture outside. Their molokhia was rich, flavorful, and comforting — definitely one of the highlights of the meal.
We also ordered feteer with sausage, and it was amazing — fresh, hot, crispy, and full of flavor. To finish, we had Om Ali dessert with mint tea, and it was the perfect ending to a wonderful meal.
And I have to mention their fresh Egyptian mango juice — honestly one of the best mango juices I’ve ever had. It tasted fresh, rich, natural, and full of real Egyptian mango flavor. Absolutely the best of the best.
What really made the experience special was the owner. He was extremely friendly, welcoming, and genuinely cared about making sure we enjoyed everything. He kept checking on us, gave excellent recommendations, and made us feel like guests in his own home rather than customers in a restaurant. That kind of hospitality is rare and truly memorable.
The atmosphere felt warm and authentic, and you can tell the restaurant is run with passion and pride. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to try real Egyptian food or is looking for authentic flavors that remind them of Egypt. Definitely a place we’ll keep coming back to!
Excellent, extremely authentic, and delicious Egyptian cuisine experience. Better than another well known (still good) option in this area, considering good Egyptian food is hard to find in the DMV outside of Egyptian families and friends. Highly recommend dining here. It may appear to be a hole in the wall, but it is totally worth it and very delicious and well priced. Went for Mother’s Day brunch and was such a better alternative to the packed, overpriced, and mediocre options usually undertaken today. Good options for different dietary needs and even for those with food sensitivities. We appreciate how well the staff accommodated us. Can’t wait to come back!

I had such a great experience at King of Koshary. I haven’t been back to Egypt in more than 3 years, but the food seriously made me feel like I traveled back home again.
I tried the traditional Egyptian grilled fish coated with bran, and it was absolutely delicious. The mango juice was also authentic Ismailia-style Egyptian mango juice, and it tasted amazing.
.Definitely will back to try other dishes
Thank you for bringing the real taste of Egypt here! 🇪🇬

I had an amazing experience at King of Koshary—definitely one of the best Middle Eastern spots in Arlington!
We started with the Baba Ganouj, which was absolutely special—rich, smoky, and perfectly creamy, served with fresh, warm bread that made it even better.
Then we tried several dishes, and everything was delicious. The Chicken Shawarma Sandwich with Fries was flavorful and juicy, with perfectly seasoned chicken. The Vegan Moussaka was surprisingly hearty and full of flavor, even for non-vegans. The Beef Kofta dish was tender and well-seasoned, cooked just right.
Of course, we couldn’t skip the King’s Koshary—a true comfort dish with a perfect mix of rice, lentils, pasta, and crispy onions. It’s a must-try! The Falafel Sandwich was also excellent—crispy on the outside, soft inside, and packed with flavor.
To balance everything, we had the King Tut Salad, which was fresh, light, and a great complement to the richer dishes.
Overall, the food was incredibly delicious, the portions were generous, and the flavors felt authentic and comforting. I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for high-quality Middle Eastern food in Arlington!
