I didn’t think anything of it until we were leaving and we saw other orders coming by with full portion, and my daughter mentioned it. It could be a mistake but there is no kids fajitas on the menu. I thought they were cutting back because of inflation.

I was dining with my mother and politely asked our waiter for plastic utensils, something I have requested and received many times at other Great American Restaurant locations. A few minutes later, a manager named Adam came to our table and told me he would not provide them because he had been told not to give them out. When I asked why, he offered no reasonable explanation and simply refused. Because this seemed so inconsistent with my previous experiences, I called Sweetwater Tavern and asked a manager whether they would provide plastic utensils upon request. She immediately said, “Yes, of course.” After I explained what was happening, she contacted Silverado and 5 minutes later called me back to say someone should be bringing the utensils to our table. Despite that, no one ever brought them. Another manager, Hicham, (he was GREAT!) eventually came over to check on us, and I explained how unnecessarily frustrating and poorly handled the situation had become. What was most disappointing was that Adam never returned to the table, acknowledged the call from Sweetwater, offered an explanation, or attempted to resolve the issue. This was never simply about plastic utensils. It was about the dismissive attitude, the lack of consistency between locations, and the complete absence of basic customer service from management. After more than two decades as a loyal customer, I expected much better from Silverado and from Great American Restaurants.
