  There is an employee at this location. I believe his name is Wilbur and he works in the deli area. He frequently stalks the Pokémon machine throughout his shift, checking it every time every 30 minutes for a restock so other people can’t get it. I find it super unethical that someone who is on the clock at Safeway is able to clean out the machine of all product during his full shift at work when he should be working. He makes people very uncomfortable because when people do walk up to the machine during his shift, he stares at them and watches them. I really think that Safeway should do something about this. The employees should not be able to buy product while they’re on shift. This is currently a known and discussed issue by many people in the community about what he’s doing, and a lot of people are even refraining from even going to Safeway because of his scalper behavior.

  Easy to find and close to a lot of businesses like Subway, restaurants, fast food places, a yoga studio, CVS, etc. I came to this Safeway just to find something quick to eat, since I was tired & hungry after a class. The place was clean. Checkout was fast and easy. I was happy with all the fresh deli options and got mango habanero rotisserie chicken and sushi. Good place to do some quick grocery shopping.

  On the evening of March 14, 2026, I experienced a very upsetting situation at a Safeway location that I frequent often. Because I work late, I arrived at approximately 11:50 PM, fully aware that the store closes at 12:00 AM. I only had about 7–9 items in a small basket and was already inside the store prior to closing. At approximately 12:03 AM, the manager informed me that I would not be allowed to check out because the store was closed. I found this to be very unprofessional and unreasonable. I was already in the store before closing, had a small number of items, and was paying by credit card, so the transaction would have taken very little time. I have shopped at this location many times and have never experienced anything like this before. Refusing service just three minutes after closing, especially when a customer was already inside before closing time, feels unacceptable and poor customer service. I hope this matter can be addressed so that situations like this are handled more reasonably in the future, especially for customers who regularly shop at this location.
