  As a sushi lover, I had to try this place, and it turned out to be an amazing choice. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully prepared from start to finish. The sushi was outstanding, and although I unfortunately don’t remember her name, the young lady who took care of me went above and beyond to make the experience special. Her service was friendly, attentive, and truly memorable. If I’m ever back in Alexandria, I’ll definitely be coming back.

  The toro was honestly some of the best I’ve had in a very long time — rich, buttery, and absolutely melt-in-your-mouth perfect. It was so good I decided to try the uni as well, and that ended up being phenomenal too. Every bite felt thoughtful and beautifully prepared. Service-wise, things were a bit slow, but it was also a very busy Mother’s Day service. More importantly, every person we interacted with was genuinely kind and welcoming, and that collective warmth really shaped the experience for us. This was our Mother’s Day outing with my kids, and we all loved it so much that my daughter even ordered the wagyu fried rice to take home for dinner afterward. Definitely a memorable meal and somewhere we’ll happily return to.

  We took some friends from out of town and we all really enjoyed our meal. I like sitting in a booth, because it's very comfortable and also helps mute the restaurant noise a little so you can have a conversation. We chose a variety of appetizers and rolls. My only issue with the special rolls is they're so large in diameter they're impossible to eat in one bite. So, delicious but messy.

  The tonkotsu ramen was okay, kinda middle of the road but really nice presentation. But then I found this weird hard chunk of noodles at the bottom. Having to remove noodles because their hard really ruined the meal for me. I let them know and they gave me a 3 dollar discount lol. If you go here, don't get the ramen.

  I had dinner here on a Thursday night, reservation was for 8:30pm so street parking was available. I love the cherry blossom atmosphere. The aesthetic of the restaurant is really beautiful. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Benje was amazing and helpful with recommendations. I had the spring roll, caramelized brussels sprouts which were delish, avocado and salmon roll, and for my entrée I had the Akeno fried rice. For drinks I had their version of a side car, I can’t think of the name of it, maybe Tokyo side car or I could be making that up. But it definitely hit the spot after a long day. So if you’re looking for good, fresh food, a great atmosphere with friendly and attentive staff 10 out of 10, I highly recommend.
