We want to try the bento so we decided, to come here and try it. The box is affordable, but the food service is so slow, and because it’s an old town, you have to park on the street and pay for parking. At that time, the restaurant just had like two or three tables, but we were waiting around for like 30 minutes at lunchtime. Otherwise, everything is completely good. The drink is also amazing. this is the menu on 8/18/26

The host and our server were both incredibly friendly and welcoming. Everyone was super helpful and happy to answer any questions we had about the menu. The restaurant was almost completely packed, and even though we showed up about 40 minutes before our reservation, they were still able to seat us right away. We had a great experience and will definitely be back. Highly recommend!
Akeno is excellent, so happy they opened the location on king street! We've gotten delivery a few times and everything has been delicious. We recently went in-person and it did not disappoint! Ordered the Black Cod Miso which I've been wanting to try, the fish was cooked perfectly with a nice crispy skin. The service was also great. Teo was an awesome bartender, he delivered on service and made excellent cocktails!

Absolutely thrilled with this new sushi bar on King. What they did with the space is wonderful (I used to get breakfast sandwiches here), great atmosphere and good vibes. Extensive menu provided many options, and I haven’t seen much toro outside of DC. Bar had plenty of seating which can be a problem in OT. Plus you can sit at the sushi counter in the back, in addition to many tables. Perfect spot for a counter sit or a sit down reservation. They were pretty busy on a Wednesday night and seemed to be juggling walk ins, delivery pickups, and reservations which could just them being a little wobbly from being newer. I’d rather it busy than not given how tough King Street can be. Letting you select your own sake glass from a beautiful collection is a nice touch. Looking forward to coming back.

I definitely lean towards 5 stars for this one.
I’ve eaten Japanese food a handful of times, but I’ve always felt like I was just dipping my toes in the water. After eating here, I think I’ve been missing out. This place has completely reignited my curiosity to explore more of what Japanese cuisine has to offer.
The restaurant is modern, stylish, and has a great buzz without feeling overwhelming. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely happy to help. One piece of advice, book ahead. By the time we’d finished eating, the place was absolutely buzzing.
We kicked things off with the spicy garlic edamame, which disappeared embarrassingly quickly. Then came the Crunchy Spicy Tuna Roll, Tonkatsu Black Garlic Truffle Ramen, and the Kurobuta sausage. Every dish brought something different to the table, and every one of them delivered. The depth of flavour in the Ramen was astonishing.
A special thank you to the team for cutting my sushi into smaller pieces after I mentioned I have quite a small bite. It might seem like a small gesture, but it made a big difference, allowing me to enjoy every perfectly balanced mouthful instead of wondering whether I’d need to unhinge my jaw!
The house sake was wonderfully smooth, dangerously drinkable, and the perfect accompaniment to the meal and perhaps a little too moreish.
If you’re like me and think Japanese food begins and ends with sushi, prepare to have your horizons expanded. Fantastic food, thoughtful service, and an atmosphere that makes you want to linger just a little longer. I’ll definitely be back, mainly because there are far too many tempting dishes left for me to try.
