If you enjoy sitting in a motionless drive-thru for 20 minutes while questioning all of your life choices, the Sonic Drive-In in Herriman is the place for you.
Calling the service here "terrible" is a generous compliment. The operational competence of this location feels like a social experiment designed to test human patience. Expecting the order to be correct, or even warm by the time it reaches your window, is a high-stakes gamble you will lose almost every single time.
Waiting 30 minutes for fast food is bad enough, but waiting 30 minutes for soggy fries, no cheese when I asked multiple times for it, and whatever incorrect variation of a slushie they decided to hand you is downright offensive. Save your time, save your money, and go literally anywhere else.

7:45-9pm on Wednesday, July 29th, that's how long this BS lasted. The teenage girls at this store made our food incorrectly, forgot items, and did not give me a receipt. When I had to return to retrieve the missing items, my husband called me while I was driving there to tell me they made the entirely wrong sandwich. When I came through, I showed them the picture my husband sent me and the burger he was supposed to get they got very rude and gave me serious attitude. I started to get upset that they were demanding a receipt when they didn’t even give me one. Then they told me I had to bring the food back. It was already handled by my husband because he was trying to figure out what the heck he even got. This made it "tainted" and not suitable to be accepted back through a drive-thru window. When I explained this to them, that this was against basic food safety, they argued with me. I do not think these children received any Food Safe training that SHOULD BE required in any fast food place. They got indignant with me. My husband informed them (over the phone in the car speaker) that taking this is against basic food standards and that the health department would not be happy about that. The teenage "manager" closed the window on me as soon as she heard that statement from him. These children should not be allowed to run a store by themselves without an actual adult supervising. They neglected to give me a receipt, they did not even give me my total, and they messed up half our order. They didn't even apologize for getting it wrong. Not to mention, both times I went through the drive thru I waited a VERY long time without any acknowledgement that I was there. There was maybe one car in the car-hop stalls, so they were incredibly slow. It was at least 5 minutes each time and I had to get their attention over the speaker. Plus, they had an "ice cream machine is broken 😢" sign on the loudspeaker, but they were making shakes inside. They dont actually want to work. These children need actual training and to not train each other. I absolutely hate to see what condition their kitchen is in if this is how incompetent they are. My husband ended up returning and they remade the burger. They then took the tainted, customer-handled food back over the counter. Additionally, there was a long, very black hair in our fries that was not found until after he returned. At that point, we were so over the terrible attitudes that it wasn't worth going back. The "manager" and other children in that store has long, black hair like that. There was not a single hairnet on any of them when I was there, but coincidentally after they heard my husband over the car speaker talk about the health department, when he returned they had hairnets on. My husband and I are filing a complaint with the Salt Lake County Health Department tomorrow for the lack of hairnets, for the hair found in the food, and for taking the food back from us over the counter. I'm not sure if we will ever patronize your company again and will warn others not to as well.
