While some things have changed over the last few decades, El Pollo Loco's delivery of fresh, authentic food has not. Everything starts with whole chickens that are slowly marinated in a special recipe of herbs, spices, fruit juices and garlic. The chicken is then expertly fire-grilled to perfection the authentic way - on our signature open-flame grills - then hand cut into your favorite Mexican entrees. We put that same dedication and care into our handmade guacamole, salsas and dressings every day. At El Pollo Loco in Layton, UT, we believe that when real food meets real fire the result is great taste that will keep you coming back again and again.
Where we live there isn't an el pollo loco but we see commercials for them all the time so when we came to visit we were excited to finally get to try one. The food was pretty tasty but to much salt for me. The music was way to loud, couldn't carry on a conversation. Overall probably would not come again.

This place just sucks... and its the staff! How can I be the only one in line and yet I can't finish a sentence about how I want my food prepared. 99% of the time I am a take-out order and 90% of the time I check the order. However on rare occasions I don't. The clerks are in such a rush and they don't listen to what you want, they just rush you. Also the chicken has become meh... I'm not sure how fresh grilled chicken from in the store can be that gross but it was just mushy blah! Also got all my sides wrong.

The food is great, the only problem is the consistency
I went there a week ago and there was a 15 min wait for chicken
No chicken of any kind at all.
I understand running out of some kind of chicken,
but a chicken restaurant without chicken is not acceptable.

I love when I spend $10 on a “loaded quesadilla “ and the cheese isn’t even melted, like at all! The customer service is no bueno and pretty much non-existent, as they didn’t seem to care and didn’t want to fix it and shut the window in my face! Ya, not ever coming back here!

I wouldn’t try their new tenders. I ordered 3 spicy tenders and it was $9.50 with tax just for the tenders. The spicy tenders just have seasoning on them. Not even a dry rub. You could Litterly buy frozen tenders at the Walmart and they would taste the same and you get more.
