I live in Centerville and been going to this McDonald’s off and on for years and I keep hoping for change. The service is terrible. You must order on the machine. If you go to the counter, they’ll avoid you as long as possible. I’ve been ignored, and I see others who just want ketchup or sauce often ignored. They just don’t care. It’s so bad you leave feeling worse, because it’s obvious they don’t care for your service. They take the “fast” out of fast food. I’ve often waited 10-15 minutes for my meal, sometimes longer if I order inside. The drive-thru gets all of the attention, so that’s the best way to order. The soda machines are often down, out of popular drinks, or ice in the summer. I attached a photo of their Cola slurpee. This is embarrassing that they would hand this to someone. I haven’t touched it, this is how it was handed to me. There is no shame at this place in providing terrible service. Their motto should be, “welcome to McDonald’s, I hate my life, and I hate you. How can I disappoint you today?” My last comment is, does McDonald’s ever visit their locations or do their owners even care? One simple unannounced visit and they could see these problems.

My multiple visits to this McDonald’s have been consistently disappointing. While the food itself is usually fine, the service—particularly from one older employee—has been exceptionally poor and has made me feel genuinely unwelcome.
Employees are frequently rude, orders are often missing items, and I have personally witnessed behavior that raises food-safety concerns. In one of the photos I posted, an employee can be seen eating snacks brought from outside. I have personally seen employees handle those snacks with their bare hands and then handle customers’ food without washing their hands.
However, the biggest issue at this location is the older woman pictured in one of my photos. In my experience, she has repeatedly been extremely rude, confrontational, dismissive, and unprofessional toward us. After multiple interactions, the pattern has become difficult to ignore.
One concern that has increasingly crossed my mind is whether the way we have been treated by this employee could, at least in part, be related to my race or background. I cannot know her intentions, but when the same employee repeatedly treats you with hostility, immediately assumes you are doing something wrong, speaks to you aggressively before hearing an explanation, and refuses to give you basic courtesy, it raises questions about why you are being treated that way.
One specific incident illustrates the problem. My friend and I received the wrong drinks at the drive-thru. My friend cannot have sugar, so he specifically ordered a diet soda but was given a regular soda. We calmly went inside to dispose of the incorrect drink and refill it from the lobby machines. Instead of asking what happened, this employee immediately stopped us and began yelling. We calmly explained that the restaurant had given us the wrong drink, but she refused to listen, continued shouting over us, and ultimately kicked us out.
What bothered me most was the immediate assumption that we were doing something wrong. We were not being disruptive or disrespectful; we were simply trying to correct the restaurant’s mistake. Being immediately treated like troublemakers contributed heavily to my concern that there may be more behind the way we are treated than simple impatience.
This has not been an isolated incident. I have also seen this employee on her phone while customers needed assistance, and she has been unnecessarily rude when we have attempted to pay with cash. Even ordinary transactions seem to turn into hostile interactions.
I believe management should review this employee’s conduct, including how she treats customers from different backgrounds. I am not claiming to know with certainty what motivates her behavior, but customers should not be left wondering whether their race or background is influencing the level of respect they receive.
Overall, the combination of repeated order mistakes, poor customer service, questionable food-handling practices, confrontational behavior, and concerns about potentially discriminatory treatment has made this one of my worst experiences with a McDonald’s location.
