I'm in Waco working hust a few days. I came across this restaurant on Google and decided to give it a try. Today was my second day in a row coming. Yesterday I had the Jerk Chicken plate with rice & peas and cabbage mixture. Flavorful and the chicken was hot when I got back to hotel. Today I ordered the Red Snapper plate and baaaabbbaaayyy ( that's my New Orleans voice) it was EXTREMELY flavorful and the fish had some kick! I love spice and kick so it was right up my alley. If you haven't tried their food, you're missing out. And I can't forget to mention the sweet & courteous greeting when walking in the door. I don't even know his name, but he is nice and does a great job serving guests! I want to bring my husband out here to Waco just to try this Tru Jamaican cuisine. **I didn't catch a picture yesterday. But I took this right before I attacked this fish! It was sitting there all seasoned-up just right!

I’ve eaten at many Jamaican restaurants and absolutely love the food! But this restaurant missed the mark on many things. The food had little, to no seasoning, the ambiance was off and the Chef not once smiled or spoke when he brought out my food. The curry goat was tough and the rice was underdone. I also noticed that several five star reviews given by others have only given one review prior to the one given here which gives the impression that they are not true reviews. Simply put if you want great food, friendly atmosphere and a pleasant experience go elsewhere, not here! Beware!!!!!!

I'm a retired Army Veteran. I have traveled and made a lot friends along the way. I have had great Jamaican food from Queens to Jamaica. I have served with Jamaicans from the island. They have taught my wife to make jerk, curry, patties.. The food was lacking seasoning and spice. The peas and rice was dry, could not taste the soul of Jamaica. The oxtail tastes like it was boiled in in just a browning mix, very bland. The plantains were good, the rum bread pudding was delicious. But other than that, I may give them another shot the next time I'm in Waco. Maybe they had an off day.

Everything was great about this restaurant. Not only was every dish so thoughtfully cooked and wonderfully delicious, but the service and environment were also absolutely enjoyable. As someone who cares primarily about food quality, I noticed with added pleasure how clean everything was — the table, the menu, etc. — and how kind the owner is. He introduced the food items patiently and always served us in a way that exceeded our expectations. We ordered one beef patty, one veggie patty, goat curry, jerk chicken, and oxtails. Every item was distinctly delicious and flavorful and the oxtails just melted in your mouth. The murals are beautiful, too.

I saw a reel promoting this place as I looked up places to eat. So we went and I got the chicken breast entree. We enjoy eating Jamaican food and at $20 a plate expected a flavorful meal. The rice wasn't fully cooked. The chicken was so tough and honestly I assumed it would have bones but it was the fastfood version of chicken. The plantains were good. Overall there was nobody in the building and zero cars in the parking lot. We should of tried the food before we left with trash carryout but we live over an hour away. I added seasoning, finished cooking it, softened the chicken, and still could only pick at it. I'm not trying to be rude but I choose burger king everyday of the week then this place. I personally didn't have a good experience. My husband said his curry goat still had skin on it and he threw his plate away as well.
